Quarry Bank's Facebook ‘House Rules’

We want our page to be a place where people can share how they

feel about the National Trust and talk about their experiences in a fun environment. We welcome feedback – both positive and negative. It helps us to learn and grow. These house rules aim to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves while they’re here: We ask you to be nice and polite to one another – you almost always are! - and respect each other’s views and comments. We ask all users to ensure your contributions are civil, polite, tasteful and suitable for all ages. We won't tolerate disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour, unlawful or objectionable content. This includes any material which might be defamatory, offensive, infringing, obscene, lewd, pornographic, violent, abusive, insulting, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, blasphemous, indecent or otherwise unlawful or objectionable. It also includes any material which is aggressive, argumentative or likely to be construed as bullying. No spamming or repetition, please, nor off-topic material in subject-specific threads or areas. Quarry Bank's Moderation policy In general, we don’t moderate posts – except on the rare occasion that someone has used offensive language or made libellous allegations about named or identifiable individuals on our page. We have a duty to protect our staff and volunteers, so while deleting comments is totally out of character for us, our legal position is that any post containing a libellous accusation, should be removed. If an individual continues to post offensive, threatening or libellous content then we’ll be forced to block that person from the page. We won’t tolerate postings, content, or links that are racist, sexist or homophobic. We also don’t permit linking to or posting any content which endorses illegal activity, or any activities against the values of the National Trust. If you’re concerned that a posting or user content has broken any of our house rules or you’re worried about any comment or content, then please send us an email to [email protected] and let us know. Finally, please note that the views on our page are created by our community and don’t necessarily represent the views or opinions of National Trust.

Rainy day? We’ve got you covered with indoor play! 🌧️

If the kids are climbing the walls at home and you want to get out, we’d love to welcome you to Quarry Bank.

On the top-floor play space, get creative with craft activities, enjoy storytelling sessions, challenge the kids to a giant game of Snakes and Ladders, and lots more.

And, a top tip for families: the zig-zag path opposite the mill entrance is a much easier way to get little legs back to the car park. 🥾

If, like us, you’re having a clear-out of your children’s bedrooms towards the end-of-the summer holidays, we’d really appreciate it if you could donate any unwanted books to Quarry Bank.

Our new children’s book nook has been so popular that the shelves are looking bare! We’re looking for donations of children’s books, from babies all the way through to tweens.

Please drop off books at Visitor Reception, or call us on 01625 527468 to arrange delivery.

Every book you donate will help raise money to care for Quarry Bank for everyone, forever. ❤️ Thank you.

The Highland cattle are enjoying their residency at Quarry Bank. Have you spotted the babies?

Just a few simple reminders:

• Please keep dogs on leads near the cattle
• Please do not feed the cattle - even an apple can sour a mother’s milk.

Thank you for helping us care for our animals and landscape.

🐾 Bring your four-legged friend to Quarry Bank. 🐶

We love welcoming dogs to Quarry Bank, and there are plenty of places for you and your pup to enjoy together.

🐕 Dogs are welcome in:
🌿 The Garden
☕ The Upper Garden Café
🛍️ The Mill Yard Shop

💧 Water bowls are available in the Mill Yard, Upper Garden Café and Visitor Reception. You’ll also find taps at Visitor Reception and in the Mill Yard if you need to refill your bottle.

To help everyone have a great visit:
🐾 Please keep dogs on short leads, especially along the main drive to the mill and in the Mill Yard, where vehicles require access at all times.
