🎉 We’re delighted that the Poynton The Women's Institute has chosen Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank as their charity partner for the year!

Supporting us through to May 2027, their fantastic members have voted to help us continue providing essential hygiene products to local families and individuals who need them most. We’re looking forward to working together over the coming year, supporting their fundraising events and activities, and sharing more about the impact of our work at their monthly meetings.

Last week’s Team Tuesday session saw us welcome to the HQ!

Alongside their donation, their Sales Executive Isabella rolled up her sleeves and joined our volunteer packing session, helping prepare toiletry totes for the charities and organisations we support each week.

Their Sales Director shared 🗣️ “Bare Necessities Toiletry Bank makes a real and immediate difference to people in the community and we’re proud to support their work. We hope this donation helps them continue providing vital hygiene essentials to families who may otherwise go without.”

Want to help? Check your bathroom cupboards and donate any unopened, unused mini toiletries. We’ll repurpose them into hygiene packs and get them to people who need them most 💪

Our Pallet Crew were right on time for today’s delivery and for a well-earned brew as we celebrate them this ☕💙

In record time, they moved a full pallet delivery up to our HQ in under 15 minutes! Their strength, teamwork and willingness to jump in whenever needed help keep our Team Tuesdays running smoothly behind the scenes.

The Pallet Crew are a brilliant example of community in action. Whether it’s unloading deliveries, moving stock or helping us tackle the heavy lifting, they’re always read to lend their support when we need it most.

So, of course, a brew was in order as a small thank you for everything they do 👏

Happy 🩵

This , we’re shining the spotlight on our sensational Sewing Bees🪡 🐝

Our Sewing Bees are a collective of over 20 women who generously volunteer their time, skills and equipment to handcraft the individual bags used for our totes and hygiene packs. Using donated and repurposed materials wherever possible, they transform unwanted fabrics into something both practical and meaningful, saving us over £2,500 in purchasing costs and allowing more of our funds to go directly towards tackling hygiene poverty across our communities.

Each bag is made with love and care, giving recipients something they can reuse long after they’ve received their pack – a lasting reminder that someone took the time to create it just for them.

Thank you to our Sewing Bees, and to all our BN volunteers, for the difference you make every day. We simply couldn’t do it without you.

Did you know…

🩷 More than 1 in 10 women & people who menstruate in the UK have struggled to afford period products
⚡ Many have been forced to prioritise food and energy costs, leading them to unsafe ways of managing their periods
🏃‍♀️ Periods are quietly excluding people who menstruate from sport, education, and work

This , we’re raising awareness of period poverty and the barriers faced by those without access to menstrual products. Access to period products, safe and hygienic spaces, and the ability to manage menstruation without shame or stigma should be a basic right – but for far too many people, this is still not the reality.

Bare Necessities provides essential sanitary packs throughout the year, helping the people we support feel comfortable, confident, and supported while working to end hygiene poverty. We accept donations of all sanitary products, including individually wrapped items – no box needed!

Because every young person deserves to feel confident at prom✨

This week we delivered an additional 40 Prom Packs to a local school in Wythenshawe, alongside our regular donation of essential hygiene packs.

Thanks to your donations, we’ve been able to provide 200 Prom Packs this year, ensuring hygiene poverty doesn’t stop local teenagers from joining in one of the biggest milestones in a school life💙

From makeup to skincare to body sprays and hair products, every unopened and unused donation makes a difference.

Spending time together like this gives us a valuable opportunity to reflect on what we’ve achieved so far, and to look ahead to the upcoming months. It’s also a chance to connect as a team and recognise the continued commitment of everyone involved.
