🧬First-of-its-kind genomics course launched for pharmacy workforce🧬

We have launched a pioneering new Genomics foundation course for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians – the first and only programme of its kind in the UK designed specifically for the pharmacy workforce.

The three-module online course has been developed to build confidence and competence in genomics, supporting pharmacy professionals as personalised medicine and pharmacogenomics become increasingly embedded in routine patient care.

Covering everything from the fundamentals of genomic science and genetic variation through to pharmacogenomics, medicines optimisation, patient communication and ethical considerations, the course is suitable for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working across hospital and generalist settings. Participants will also gain practical insight into genomic testing, interpretation of results and the application of genomics-informed prescribing in clinical practice.

With genomics set to play an increasingly important role in healthcare, this innovative programme represents a significant step forward in equipping pharmacy professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to support the future of patient-centred care.
