Last week I had the privilege of bringing together partners from across Leicestershire to explore how we can build stronger collaborations around food, health, and wellbeing.

One message stood out above all others:

Crisis is rarely caused by a single issue, so it cannot be solved by a single service.

Food insecurity is often linked to debt, poor health, housing challenges, unemployment, social isolation, and digital exclusion. When organisations work in silos, people can fall between the gaps. When we work together, we create pathways to resilience, independence, and lasting change.

The knowledge, experience, and commitment shared by everyone in the room demonstrated the huge potential we have to create a more connected, person-centred support system across our communities.

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed ideas, challenged assumptions, and shared their expertise. Special thanks to Dr Annette Durant and George Prior for their contribution to the day.

Let's turn today's conversations into action: ✅ Build new partnerships

✅ Strengthen referral pathways

✅ Share knowledge and resources

✅ Put people, not services, at the centre of our work

Because no single organisation can do this alone.

Together we can move people from crisis to resilience, and together we can change lives. 💚
