👻 Our play therapist, Ian, joined Cathy for a Halloween-themed music session.

📸 The marketing team couldn’t resist a selfie with Chris Packham when he visited the hospice to help us open our new Garden of Memories.

🎄 Filming with Sam’s family and Motus TV for our Christmas Appeal launching next week!

🏆 Proudly receiving our awards at the National Charity Today Awards - Winners of Hospice of the Year, and highly commended in the People’s Choice Award and Partnership of the Year alongside our long-standing partners HARIBO UK & IRELAND

☕ Our first volunteer get together was a huge success at our Martin House Wetherby Shop shop.

🪩 We visited the The Yorkshire Auction House TV to meet Angus Ashworth ahead of our Glitter Ball.

📽️ ITV Calendar came to film a news feature following Louis Theroux visiting.

🫣 7 year old Hooriya interviewed Louis Theroux during his visit to the hospice, which started off from under a table. It’s safe to say she was a star interviewer by the end of it.

🩺 We filmed a testimonial with Yorkshire Ambulance Service following our practise educators providing training on pregnancy loss and end of life care.

A huge congratulations to our partners at Yorkshire Garden Centres who have raised an amazing £106,000 since the partnership began in April 2025! 🎉

Across seven garden centres, their colleagues and customers have gone above and beyond to fundraise for us. From bake sales and spinathons to cycling challenges and dragon boat racing, their creativity, generosity and community spirit have been incredible!

And it’s not just about fundraising...from donating Lego and supporting our retail team, to welcoming our families to special events, Yorkshire Garden Centres have made their support felt in so many thoughtful ways.

Every penny helps us care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions and support their families across Yorkshire. Thank you, Yorkshire Garden Centres, for making such a difference 💙

💙 A big thank you to our amazing Martin House community. Here’s a look at what some of our brilliant supporters have been up to recently 🤩

1️⃣ A mum supported by Martin House held a fundraiser in memory of her daughter, Lyla - how great does ‘Lyla Fest’ look!

2️⃣ Ryan took on the 13 Valleys Ultra running for over 30 hours and covering nearly 80 miles, raising an incredible 2,281.25!

3️⃣ Our partners Stockeld Park kindly donated 340 teddy bears to the hospice 🧸

4️⃣ Zoe took on the incredible challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in loving memory of Emily, and raised an outstanding £3,316.25!

5️⃣ Ilkley Friends held a bucket collection at Ilkley Bandstand, joined by special guests Music Box and Silvertones, raising an amazing £520.

6️⃣ Tess took on the Yorkshire Marathon and raised over £1100...

7️⃣ And so did Adam who raised £350!

8️⃣ Abi from Lazenby’s Financial Services popped down to present £357.72 raised from their coffee morning.

9️⃣ Assured Data Protection took on London Bridge Charity Walk covering 21.1km and rising £1500!

🔟 Helen and Helen hosted a bake sale and raised £543 towards their £5,000 fundraising target ahead of their climb of Machu Picchu.

1️⃣1️⃣ The team from Sky TV climbed the Yorkshire Three Peaks and raised £1591.25.

1️⃣2️⃣ Marty Bear was thrilled to attend Ashville College Prep School to enjoy Pyjama Day, where they raised an incredible £900.

1️⃣3️⃣ We are proud to be one of Hatmill’s chosen charities for 2026/27 and welcomed them to the hospice where they presented us with an amazing £5,000.

1️⃣4️⃣ Gamstop Group team took on the challenge of completing Pen-Y-Ghent. They are proud to have supported us as Charity of the Year and together they have raised £734.09.

🎁 It might be October, but Santa’s sleigh is already filling up at Martin House!

A huge thank you to Weetons who have kindly donated over 300 presents for the children and young people to receive from Santa at our Christmas party this December.
