🎄🎁 WE KNOW… IT’S ONLY OCTOBER! 🙈🎅

We can practically hear you saying, “Christmas? Already?! I haven’t even thought about putting the heating on yet!” 😂

But whilst it might feel a little early to be thinking about Christmas (we promise we haven’t put the decorations up just yet! 🎄), it’s never too early to start spreading a little kindness. ❤️

At Somewhere to Go, we want to make sure the homeless and vulnerable adults accessing our services feel remembered, valued and cared for this Christmas. For some of the people we support, Christmas can be an incredibly difficult and lonely time, and a small gift can make a world of difference. 💙

🎁 We’re asking our wonderful community to help us collect Christmas gifts for adults.

Gift ideas include:

🧴 Toiletries and personal care sets
🧦 Warm socks, hats, scarves and gloves
🍫 Chocolates, biscuits and sweet treats
☕ Tea, coffee and hot chocolate treats
🧼 Shower gels, shampoos and deodorants
🎒 Rucksacks and practical everyday essentials
🎁 Small, thoughtful gifts suitable for adults

✨ Gifts don't need to be expensive — it's the thought that counts!

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Somewhere to Go, 4a Boulevard, Weston-super-Mare.

So, whilst the rest of us might still be pretending summer hasn't ended, we're getting organised early to help make Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most. 🎅❤️

🧥 HELP US KEEP PEOPLE WARM THIS WINTER! ❄️

As the colder weather sets in, Somewhere to Go is asking for donations of men’s winter clothing to support the people accessing our services in Weston-super-Mare.

For someone experiencing homelessness, having a warm coat or a dry set of clothes can make a huge difference during the winter months. ❤️

We would be incredibly grateful for donations of good-quality, clean men’s clothing, particularly:

🧥 Warm winter coats and waterproof jackets
🧶 Jumpers, hoodies and fleeces
👖 Trousers and jeans
🧦 Warm socks
🧤 Hats, scarves and gloves
👟 Sturdy footwear and trainers

Every donation, big or small, helps us provide warmth, comfort and dignity to people in our community who need it most.

We support homeless and vulnerable adults across North Somerset, providing practical support, advice, food, outreach and access to essential services.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from people who can bring new skills, experience, ideas and perspectives to our Board.

You don’t need to have been a trustee before — what matters is your commitment to our values and your willingness to help make a difference.

📍 Report the location through StreetLink and your alert will be passed to local outreach services and the local authority, who will aim to make contact and offer support.

A StreetLink alert can make all the difference by helping someone access accommodation, healthcare, food, and other essential services.

📈 The need for our services continues to grow.

The graph below shows the steady increase in the number of people accessing Somewhere to Go over recent years. Behind every number is a person facing homelessness, poverty, isolation, or crisis, who has turned to us for support.

As demand continues to rise, so does the pressure on our staff, volunteers, and resources. Every hot meal, food parcel, shower, item of clothing, support session, and outreach visit is made possible thanks to the generosity of our community.

We urgently need donations of clean, good-quality clothing to help support people experiencing homelessness and hardship in our community.

We are particularly looking for:

• T-shirts and jumpers
• Jeans and trousers

• Shoes and trainers

🍽️ We Need Your Help! 🍽️

Our food supplies are running low, and we urgently need donations of dry goods to help us provide meals for people in need.

If you can donate items such as pasta, rice, tinned food, cereal, tea, coffee, long-life milk, biscuits, or other non-perishable foods, we would be incredibly grateful.

You can bring your donations to our Day Centre at St John's Church Hall, 4a Boulevard, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1NA.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps ensure that no one who comes through our doors goes hungry.
