"I thought I just needed new glasses."

Many people don't realise that the gradual changes they're experiencing could be caused by cataracts.

Common signs include:
✔️ Blurred or cloudy vision
✔️ Difficulty seeing in bright light
✔️ Increased glare from headlights
✔️ Colours appearing faded

The good news is that support is available at every stage of the journey. From diagnosis through to treatment and recovery, the right advice and low vision aids can help people continue enjoying everyday activities and maintain their independence.

This Cataract Awareness Month, let's help raise awareness of the signs and encourage regular eye examinations.

We did it! And smashed our target - though there's still time to donate!

❤️ Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. You are all just wonderful! We're chuffed!

❤️ Massive thanks to the dedicated members at
Nailsea & Backwell Rotary who make this event happen each year.

The staff team at VNS made a (very!) last minute entry to the Nailsea & Backwell Rotary Charity 5k as part of our own National Volunteering Week efforts. We've raised £650 (with Gift Aid) towards our hubs and activities programme for people with visual impairments. There's still a little more to add too, so your kind donations will bring us in at around ❤️ £700 ❤️

If you'd like to help take us up to our stretch target of 😍£1000 😍, you can donate

- at Just Giving, www.justgiving.com/page/vnssponsoredwalk
- by cheque made out to Vision North Somerset
- by cash at our Weston base
