Our recent Industrial Cadets Bronze and Silver celebration event, sponsored by SSEN Transmission, highlighted the incredible impact STEM projects can have on young people πŸš€

Through the programme, students developed new skills, explored real-world STEM challenges and gained a greater understanding of the energy sector 🌍⚑

πŸ’¬ Grace, Bronze Project student from Tarbert Academy, shared: β€œWe’ve been able to explore different things and meet new people. Because we’re from quite a small community, we don’t usually get opportunities like this or chances to build these kinds of skills. So we feel really fortunate to be part of it. I think it’s just really cool."

πŸ’¬ Harris, Silver Project Student from Lochside Academy, also reflected on how the project helped him better understand the role organisations like SSEN Transmission play in powering communities: β€œI was aware of SSEN before because there’s a generation centre near where I live, but apart from knowing they existed, I never really thought much about them. Now, through what the mentor showed us and through the project, I’ve learned a lot more about what they actually do and how important their work is."

It’s fantastic to see students building confidence, broadening their horizons and connecting classroom learning to real-world careers in STEM 🌟

Thank you SSEN Transmission, for supporting the next generation of future talent πŸŽ‰
