🌻 Creating Memories, One Box at a Time 🌻

Our lovely resident Dorothy has been busy creating her very own memory box to display outside her bedroom door. Wanting it to reflect the things that mean the most to her, Dorothy chose a beautiful garden theme, inspired by her lifelong love of gardening and spending time outdoors.

Among the treasured items in her memory box is her favourite photograph of her two sons when they were little – a special reminder of precious family memories that always brings a smile to her face. 💛

Memory boxes are a wonderful way for residents to share their life stories, celebrate their interests, and create meaningful connections with those around them. We think Dorothy has done a fantastic job, and her memory box is as bright and beautiful as the memories it holds. 🌷🌿

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome Victoria McCabe for a special D-Day performance.

Victoria entertained residents and staff with a wonderful selection of songs, helping us commemorate this important occasion while bringing plenty of smiles, singing, and fond memories. It was lovely to see everyone joining in and enjoying the afternoon together.

🎵 Music for the Soul 🎵

This morning, our residents enjoyed another wonderful 'Music for the Soul' session, filled with singing, laughter, and cherished memories.

Music can have a powerful impact on people living with dementia. Familiar songs can help unlock memories, encourage communication, reduce anxiety, and promote feelings of comfort and wellbeing. It also provides an opportunity for social connection, helping residents engage with one another and enjoy meaningful moments together.

There were plenty of smiles, tapping feet, and singing along today as everyone embraced the joy that music brings. ❤️

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed a wonderful Knit and Natter session, spending time together, sharing stories, and working on their knitting projects in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. 🧶💬

During the gathering, Home Manager Coni also took the opportunity to hold a residents' meeting, giving everyone a chance to share their thoughts, ideas, and feedback about life in the home. We always value our residents' voices and are committed to ensuring they are involved in decisions that matter to them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon so enjoyable. We look forward to our next Knit and Natter session! ❤️
