"Three years ago, when Michael Woods first approached Action Deafness with his dream of reaching the summit of Mount Everest, we immediately saw his fierce determination, resilience and unwavering belief that he could achieve what many thought impossible.

Action Deafness was proud to be amongst the very first organisations to sponsor and support Michael at the beginning of that incredible journey. Other sponsors and supporters soon followed and what a journey it has been!

Today, Michael Woods has officially reached the Summit of Everest thus becoming the first Deaf Brit to achieve this extraordinary feat. Truly remarkable.

Your achievement is not only a personal triumph, Michael, but also an inspiration to many Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people everywhere.

You have shown the world that barriers are there to be challenged and broken.

Huge congratulations from me and all of us at Action Deafness - we are immensely proud of you!" - Craig Crowley, CEO, Action Deafness
