📣 Community Update – Meeting with SCD / Vistry

The Stanton Cross Residents’ Association will be meeting with SCD / Vistry later this week to discuss a number of ongoing issues and concerns affecting the development and wider community.

As part of this, we would like to invite residents to share any key questions, concerns or feedback they would like the SCRA to raise during the meeting.

Some of the topics already identified include:
• Retail centre / shops update
• Road connection progress near Leyland area
• Tennis courts and open space access
• Car park access near the school
• Infrastructure and future utilities works
• Progress on land transfers and community spaces

Please comment below with:

* questions you would like raised;
* concerns affecting residents;
* or areas you would like clearer updates on.

We appreciate this is relatively short notice, as the meeting is scheduled for Friday morning. To help us prepare and collate feedback in advance, we would be grateful if comments could ideally be shared by Thursday evening where possible.

However, residents are still welcome to continue sharing feedback after this point, as this will help shape future discussions, priorities and engagement with stakeholders going forward.

Please note that this particular meeting will primarily focus on strategic infrastructure, planning and wider community delivery matters affecting Stanton Cross.

While all resident feedback is important, more localised or individual matters (such as isolated maintenance concerns, neighbour disputes, individual snagging issues or routine service matters) should generally be raised directly with the developer, management company, council or relevant authority in the first instance.

As a volunteer-led residents’ association with limited time and resources, the SCRA must prioritise issues that impact the wider community and where collective resident representation is likely to have the greatest impact.

This helps ensure that stakeholder meetings remain focused, productive and outcome-driven.

Thank you again for your continued engagement and support.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out today (both young and old) and supported our first litter pick in partnership with Wellie Wombles💛

You turned up in great numbers and helped us collect close to 20 bags of rubbish across the estate. What an amazing effort!

Some of you may have spotted us while out on your walks or from your windows, especially as it was such a glorious day ☀️

What an incredible community we have. This is the true spirit of our neighbourhood.

🗓 Going forward:
The litter picks will take place on the last Saturday of each month at 10am, meeting just outside Stanton Cross Primary School. We’d love to see you there next time!

A special thank you to all our volunteers, and to:
Freddie Harris (Wellie Wombles), David Baker, Marion Turner-Hawes, Edeltraud Freund (Chair of the Wellingborough Civic Society), Reverend Debbie Smith-Wilds and members of the Residents’ Association for showing up and participating today.

Happy Easter Sunday to you all 🌸

We hope this Easter bank holiday has provided an opportunity for much-needed rest, chocolates, and time with your loved ones.

As some in our community mark this occasion to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we hope it brings peace, reflection, and togetherness for everyone.

Wishing everyone a lovely day. Happy Easter 💛

Hi all

We're aware of the state of the bins in the park.

We've been in touch with Vistry.

They've confirmed they've asked their supplier to come "as a matter of urgency".

We'll continue to monitor the situation.

Stanton Cross Summer Fete 2026 – We Need You!

The Stanton Cross Summer Fete will be returning in Summer 2026 (date to be confirmed). As the event continues to grow each year, so does the effort required behind the scenes. And this year, the Stanton Cross Residents Association (SCRA) is inviting the wider community to help shape it.

We are forming a dedicated Summer Fete sub-committee and are looking for enthusiastic residents who want to play a part in delivering one of our community’s most loved events.

What would be expected?
- Attend regular planning meetings
- Help organise and coordinate areas of the fete
- Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and council contacts
- Support preparations in the lead-up to the event
- Be available to help on the day

What’s in it for you?
- Help create something special for the whole community
- Meet more of your neighbours and build lasting connections
- Develop valuable skills in planning, teamwork, and event coordination
- Bring your own ideas to life
- Experience the pride of seeing an event succeed that you helped deliver

No previous event experience is necessary...just enthusiasm, reliability, and a collaborative spirit.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please register your interest via the link below. There’s no obligation at this stage - we simply want to hear from residents who may like to be part of the team.

Let’s work together to make the Stanton Cross Summer Fete 2026 the best one yet!

📢 SCD Communications Update

Dear Residents,

McCann, the PR firm acting on behalf of SCD, have acknowledged the importance of keeping residents updated. This is a really positive step and should help improve awareness of ongoing matters across Stanton Cross.

They will soon begin sending out monthly update emails. If you would like to receive these, you can sign up here: http://eepurl.com/jsNdSQ

More information about McCann can be found here: https://www.mccannbirmingham.co.uk/

➡️ Data Management Update: McCann have advised that data is all managed through Mailchimp as per their processes and their data management policies. If there are concerns around this, residents should contact them directly, as they will be able to answer questions about this process.

SCD will only have access to the data to send emails via the mailing list residents subscribe to. Residents can unsubscribe from this at any point using the link within the email received, removing their data from the mailing list.
