🎉 THAT’S A WRAP - STANTON CROSS SUMMER FETE 2026! 🎉
What a day! ☀️💛
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the Stanton Cross Summer Fete yesterday and helped make it such a fantastic day for our community.
From the moment the gates opened, the Town Park was full of families, friends, picnic blankets, music, food, drinks, activities and plenty of smiles. 🥰
It was wonderful to see so many people simply coming along, grabbing something to eat, finding a spot on the grass and spending the day together.
We are incredibly proud of what was achieved particularly given that the event was organised and delivered by local Stanton Cross residents volunteering their own time.
🎪 A little bit of everything!
There was plenty happening throughout the day, including:
🎈 Bouncy castles, inflatables & the bungee run
🐑 ARK Farm - educational mobile farm
🎨 Face painting
🎶 Live music & entertainment
🎟️ hook a duck, and children’s fairground rides
🥁 Children’s music and performance activities
🍕🍔🍦 A fantastic selection of food, drinks, ice cream & treats
🎟️ Our Summer Fete raffle
👮 Police / Beat Bus
🚑 Emergency services
☀️ And, of course, plenty of space to picnic, relax and enjoy the sunshine!
🎶 Our steel band were a real highlight of the day and were incredibly well received! We loved having them with us and hope to welcome them back again next year.
A special thank you to all of our food and drink vendors who helped create such a great atmosphere. We’ve already heard from several who would love to return next year, which is fantastic!
💰 THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE RA
The fete was also a fantastic fundraiser for the Stanton Cross Residents’ Association.
A fantastic £4,926 was raised through raffle and bouncy castle ticket sales on the day, just shy of £5,000! 🎉, alongside our vendor income and generous support from our sponsors and supporters.
Every penny raised is reinvested back into our community, helping us organise future events, support Residents’ Association activities and continue creating opportunities for residents to come together.

❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS
An event of this size doesn’t happen by itself.
A special thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make yesterday happen.
Precious, Binoy, Shahbaaz, Adam, Debbie, Yemi, Richard, Aniqah, Bejon, Nathan, Hayley, Oluwale, Dwayne, Jonathan, Gautham - thank you.
There is a huge amount of work that takes place behind the scenes before anyone arrives at the Town Park. From submitting the necessary event notifications and forms to the Council, liaising with Environmental Health, arranging insurance and land permissions, communicating with prospective and confirmed vendors, checking Food Standards Agency requirements and reviewing their public liability insurance, risk assessments, food hygiene documentation and other relevant certifications, organising waste management and toilets, coordinating security and emergency services, contacting sponsors and local businesses, sourcing raffle prizes, distributing flyers and promoting the event. There are countless smaller jobs that all have to come together before the event can even open its gates
And then, of course, there is everything that happens on the day itself.
Whether you were involved in the planning and organisation, completing paperwork and liaising with the Council, contacting vendors and sponsors, setting up the site, running the bouncy castles, supplying and tidying the toilets, selling raffle tickets, staffing the RA stand, helping visitors, supporting vendors, keeping an eye on things throughout the day, picking litter or staying behind to pack everything away - your contribution mattered.
This event is organised and delivered by residents, who give up their own time voluntarily to put something positive back into our community. There is a lot more work involved than what people see on the day, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part.
And importantly, these aren’t paid event staff or professional event organisers.
We are residents, volunteering our own time to put something on for our community.
We may not get everything perfect, but we’re incredibly proud of what we managed to deliver together.

💭 AND WHAT ABOUT NEXT YEAR?
Yesterday has given us plenty to think about!
We’re already looking at how we can make the fete even bigger and better in 2027, including:
🎶 More entertainment throughout the afternoon
🎤 Activities and entertainment aimed at a wider range of ages
🏘️ More local community groups and organisations
💼 More opportunities for local businesses
🎪 More activities and attractions
💡 New sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
❤️ And even more ways for residents to get involved
We also recognise that we’d love to grow the local business, community organisation and charity presence at future events. That’s something we’ll be looking at as we start planning for next year.
There is always room to improve, and we’ll be taking on board feedback from residents, vendors, volunteers and supporters as we plan the next one.
🤝 WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
The Residents’ Association is run by residents, for residents and we’re always happy to hear from people who would like to get involved.
Whether you’d like to help organise future events, volunteer on the day, support the Residents’ Association, become a community partner or simply have an idea you’d like to share, please get in touch.
📧 [email protected]
We’ll also be sharing a feedback form shortly, so residents, vendors and volunteers can let us know what they enjoyed and what they think we could do differently next time.
