We are a group of local residents and beyond who have been fighting this planning application from Bedfordia Ltd since July 2017. The company originally applied for 10 brolier sheds but withdrew their application at the 11th hour. They have now ‘revised’ their application by trimming down the plan by 4 sheds (so as a direct comparison to the original application it is ‘less damaging’) but as we an
d thousands of experts, scientists and Sir David Attenborough know it is a catastrophic abuse of nature, the countryside and the PLANET and it has to end. It’s dangerous, unfair and dirty, with impacts ranging from climate change and biodiversity loss to disease and food insecurity. Factory farming is too often viewed as the cheap, efficient solution to feeding our world. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. For every 100 food calories of edible crops fed to livestock, we get back just 17 calories in the form of meat and dairy; an 83% loss. In short, people are being forced to compete with farm animals for food. PLEASE support this campaign and beyond by objecting to this proposal and any other similar proposals around the country. And educate family, friends and neighbours that there is an alternative future
