Meet Michael & Martyn 💜💜

Today we’re introducing not one, but two amazing members of the Creating Adventures family… our fantastic twins, Michael and Martyn!

Bursting with energy, fun and friendship, these two have so much to give and never sit still for long! Their enthusiasm is infectious, and wherever they go, they’re guaranteed to bring smiles and laughter with them.

Michael and Martyn are incredibly polite, well-mannered and kind to everyone they meet. They truly love the community spirit that we value so much at Creating Adventures, always making others feel welcome and included.

They attend 🎭 Ignite Dance and Drama, 🎺 Bold as Brass Band and 🎤 Beautiful Noise Choir… and they certainly have all the right moves when they’re dancing along to the songs they’re singing!

🎶 “Thank you for the music, the songs we’re singing… thanks for all the joy they’re bringing…” 🎶

…and that brings us nicely to our exciting news!

Michael and Martyn will both be performing in our upcoming “Take a Chance on Us” showcase, where they’ll be bringing their energy, enthusiasm and talent to the stage. We can’t wait to see them shine!

We think Michael and Martyn are absolutely amazing, and we’re so proud to have them as part of the Creating Adventures family. 💜

🍰 Cookery Group – Keeping Cool in the Kitchen! ☀️

Today’s Cookery Group showed that even a heatwave can’t stop teamwork! While the temperature soared, our amazing gang baked delicious cupcakes ready for our Showcase at Walton Hall on Monday 7th July. We can’t wait to share them with everyone who comes along to celebrate the fantastic talents of our members!

With the weather being so hot, lunch was picnic-style and just what everyone needed. We tucked into sausages, chicken wraps, fresh salad, homemade coleslaw and lots of other yummy treats. 🥗🌭🌯

To keep everyone refreshed, there were plenty of cold drinks flowing and ice pops all round. Our members stayed cool as cucumbers 😎🥒, taking regular breaks to cool down while still enjoying a fun-filled day together.

A huge thank you to our wonderful members, who brighten every session with their smiles, laughter and positivity. 💛

Special thanks to Janine, who bravely baked cupcakes on one of the hottest days of the year! 🧁🔥

Thank you to Jules for picking up the shopping, and to each and every one of our incredible volunteers. Your kindness, hard work and teamwork are what make days like today run so smoothly—you are all amazing! ❤️

🎨 Art Mondays – Creative Crew 🪶

This week our Creative Crew got their feathers flying with Liz from Himos Hub! We transformed plain white feathers into vibrant works of art, with everyone adding their own colourful designs and creative flair.

They certainly didn’t wing it—every feather was made with care, imagination and plenty of laughter. No one got ruffled, and there were definitely a few fine feathered masterpieces along the way!

The end result? A stunning wreath ready to take pride of place at our Mardi Gras Ball this Friday, and a fabulous feathered hat fit for a very special VIP who’ll be visiting us soon.

We can’t wait to show them off! 💜💚💛

Thank you so much to Becca and Emma from First Recruitment for visiting us yesterday at our Creative Crew session and donating £500 from their Greater Reach Fund to help us with equipment that we need to improve our activities for our members but also to help us raise our profile with banners and displays for upcoming events.

🌞🥁🎶 A Triple Celebration at Creating Adventures! 🎶🥁🌞

Today is a very special day…

✨ The Summer Solstice – the longest day of the year.
💙 Father’s Day – celebrating all the amazing dads and father figures.
🎵 World Music Day – a day dedicated to the joy that music brings us all.

And somehow… this post just fell perfectly into place!

These wonderful photos were taken during one of our Bang On Drums sessions with our brilliant music tutor, Andy.

Meet two of our amazing dads and volunteers, Steve and Mike. Mike is not only a fantastic dad but also a proud dog dad to the gorgeous Maisy, his faithful Jack Russell Service dog. 🐶❤️ And yes… Andy is also a very proud fur baby dad too! (Sorry Andy… I just had to get that in! 😄)

Today we’re celebrating more than Father’s Day. We’re celebrating two incredible dads, one amazing music tutor, and three genuinely kind-hearted, funny, resilient and supportive men who help make Creating Adventures such a special place.

It feels wonderfully fitting that these photos were taken during a music session, because tomorrow also happens to be World Music Day. Add in the Summer Solstice, and we’ve got the perfect excuse for a triple celebration on the longest day of the year!

🥁 And the celebrations don’t stop there…

Our fantastic drummers will be bringing the rhythm, the energy and the beats to our Creating Adventures Showcase on Tuesday 7th July.

🧘‍♀️✨ Friday means it’s time to relax, restore and recharge… ✨🧘‍♂️

There’s no better way to end the week than with our wonderful Yoga Session at Creating Adventures.

A huge thank you to our amazing yoga tutor, Clare, who creates such a calm, welcoming space for our members. With her gentle guidance, everyone is encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply and simply be in the moment.

As the session unfolds, you can almost feel the stresses of the week melting away. Our members leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and restored… many saying they feel like they’re floating home on a little cloud! ☁️💙

Yoga isn’t about being the most flexible—it’s about finding peace, building confidence, improving wellbeing and taking time to care for yourself.

Thank you, Clare, for helping our members discover a little calm in a busy world. Your kindness, patience and encouragement make every session something truly special. 💜

🍳🥗 Recipes for Success – Thursday Cookery Group 🥗🍓

Today’s Recipes for Success group cooked up a delicious potato frittata, packed with everyone’s favourite fillings. With eggs, potatoes, ham hock, peppers, onions, feta, pepperoni and courgettes, it was a real egg-stravaganza! Served alongside a fresh Greek salad, it made for a colourful and tasty lunch.

For pudding, the group enjoyed a quick and delicious cheat’s trifle, which certainly went down a treat! 🍓🍮

Everyone worked brilliantly together – there were no scrambled moments, just lots of egg-cellent teamwork! The potatoes really rose to the occasion, the feta was grate, and the finished frittatas were all they’re cracked up to be! 😄🥚

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers Noreen, Joan and Ali, and of course our fantastic cookery tutor Charlie, who kept everything running like clockwork. They supported our members throughout the session and, as always, made light work of the washing up and ensured everything was left sparkling and back in its rightful place.

Well done to everyone for another fun-filled session full of confidence, teamwork, new skills and, of course, delicious food! 💙👨‍🍳

Thank you

Our Bold as Brass Band and Beautiful Noise Choir performed at St Joseph’s Parish Centre today, and we had an absolute blast! We hope you all enjoyed our performance as much as we enjoyed sharing it with you.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at St Joseph’s for such a lovely, warm welcome and for looking after us so well. It was a very warm day, and you kept the tea, coffee, juice—and, of course, the biscuits—flowing throughout!

Thank you, too, for your very kind donation. But more than anything, thank you for inviting us along and making us feel so welcome. It was a pleasure to spend time with such lovely people, and your kindness touched every one of us.

You really are a lovely, lovely lot! 🥰💙🎶
