Two of the longest serving members of Wantage Youth Brass attended their final rehearsal this evening before heading off to pursue their chosen careers.

Josh started on euphonium with Beginner Band, before progressing through Training Band, to be a valued member of both Academy Band and WYB. In recent months, Josh has moved to Bb bass to help out both bands. His cheerful personality and willingness to help others will be greatly missed.

Ciara joined WSB aged eight years old just as Beginner Band was forming. She began learning cornet, but, when some baby basses were obtained, she made the switch and never looked back. Keen to learn and progress, Ciara has played in several different bands, even playing for a while with Concert Brass.

Both players will be greatly missed by the band. We wish them luck and hope they continue on their musical journey.

A fantastic afternoon spent in Stroud with Wantage Band and the wonderful The Cotswold Voices. Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support them!

The band were especially pleased to join forces with the choir to perform 'You Were Always On My Mind' to conclude the concert. A huge thank you to our very own Brian Thomas for putting this beautiful arrangement together! We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as the band and choir enjoyed performing it!

Our last thank you must go to all the amazing staff at The Subscription Rooms 🙏
