A huge thank you to the ladies of Inner Wheel Club of Wallasey for their incredibly generous donation of £200 to The Lighthouse Centre

Their kindness will help us provide emergency overnight bags for women and children accessing our service who may need to leave an abusive situation at short notice.

These bags can offer comfort, dignity, and practical support during what can be an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.

We are so grateful for your support and for helping us make a difference to the women and families we work with.

President Pat hosted our AGM this week before stepping down after 2 years in the role. A minute silence was held to remember our friend Lynda Canner who passed recently. Annual reports were completed after a lovely meal provided by Claire. Sweet William graced the tables, Audrey & Hilary took charge of the raffle and the usual food bank collection took place. The evening ended with a relaxed ‘chat time’.🥰

We were so delighted to welcome friends and family to our Guest Evening last night.
We enjoyed good food and a very fascinating presentation about his Life in Antarctica from our speaker, Dr Ian Lovegrove.

Our lovely Sue thanked speaker Lynn Gee for her interesting talk called Sophie’s Story.
She told of Sophie’s life as a child in Germany during WW2 and her evacuation to the UK . She gave a full account of her life with photos and items brought with her at the time. The tear jerker was when she revealed that Sophie was actually her mother 🥲 such a happy ending.
