We will be attending the Community First Eastleigh showcase event on Sunday 20th September 2026 11am-3pm .. please check out their event and come along and say hello!

📣 Last few spaces remaining for the Eastleigh Community Showcase 📣

Eastleigh Community Showcase returns this year to The Point and Leigh Road Rec Ground on Sunday 20th September (11am-3pm) and we're thrilled to already have over 50 community groups, charities and other voluntary organisations involved!

We've got walking football, pickleball, tennis, martial arts, choirs, dances groups plus a host of organisations providing local support to local people.

The aim is to provide a variety of information stalls, activities and the chance to try out some things for free so as to encourage people to take up new activities going forward that will benefit their mental or physical health.

Priority will be given to groups that are based in, or rehearse/meet in, Eastleigh borough so that they're more accessible to residents that attend the event and might want to get involved.

🚨 All Inside Stalls and slots for the Garden Stage are now fully booked, but we do still have some spaces for groups that have appropriate gazebos and want to be outside on the Rec Ground.

Today, we thought we’d introduce you to some of our wonderful Thursday Reception Team Volunteers who are waiting to welcome you to Testwood Lakes Sailabilty- come and say hi! 😄👋

Testwood Lakes Sailability is open on Mondays (excluding Bank Holidays) and Thursdays, from 10am until mid-afternoon, through to the end of October, weather permitting.

Anyone over the age of 8 with a disability- whether that’s physical, sensory or learning- is welcome, as are groups from local day centres, care homes and similar organisations. Larger groups are asked to let us know in advance, but otherwise, simply turn up and register with our lovely Reception team.

Whether you’re a complete novice or an experienced sailor, you’ll receive a warm welcome from our fantastic volunteers, who will make sure you have a wonderful time sailing with our qualified Skippers, at beautiful Testwood Lakes.

Meet the Volunteers Behind TLS ⛵💙

Today was all about the incredible people who make Testwood Lakes Sailability possible — our amazing volunteers! 💙

From helping sailors get safely onto the water to supporting on the pontoon, launching boats and making sure everyone has a fantastic experience, there’s a huge amount that happens behind the scenes.

And then there’s the best bit… getting out on the water! 🌊⛵

We’re incredibly proud of our volunteer team and the time, skills and enthusiasm they give to help make sailing accessible to people with disabilities.

This is more than sailing. It’s freedom, confidence, friendship and a whole lot of fun. 💙

⛵ Join the Team at Testwood Lakes Sailability! ⛵

We are an award-winning, 100% volunteer-run charity in Totton that gets disabled people out on the water. In 2025, we were incredibly honoured to receive The King’s Award for Voluntary Service! 👑

Over the last 10 years, we have grown to 70 volunteers, 6 specialized dinghies, and have provided over 7,000 sails. We are truly "more than sailing"—we are a welcoming community that changes lives.

To help us sail smoothly into the future, we are looking for new Charity Trustees to join our friendly board.

We are looking for people who:
Want to help a small, successful local charity stay sustainable.
Have an interest or background in local community or disability support (desired, not essential!).
Previous trustee experience is a bonus, but absolutely not required.

The Commitment:
Our board meets approx four times a year at Testwood Lakes (with an online option available), plus occasional casual working groups.
