Little 'Woody' picked up yesterday and brought in today from Woodley Ave in Thornton after being seen out during the daytime. An Autumn juvenile weighing 225gms so well underweight for the time of the year. This is one very hungry baby. She ate for over half an hour! Then had a quick drink and went back to bed.

'Abby' was rescued a week ago as she was out during the daytime in the Fleetwood area. She has a very large abscess on her neck which has been treated with strong antibiotics and painkilling injections. Abscess now drained and she is feeling much better. Just need to get her weight up before she can be released.

This is 'Tickle'. He was noticed via a garden cam one evening while he was feeding to have more than his fair share of ticks on him, so he was brought in for treatment. I must have removed over 100 of the damn things off him. Now tick free, but needs a bit of weight on him before he can be returned to his garden.

This little hedgehog was found yesterday wandering around the Marsh Mill area of Thornton during the daytime indicating all was not well. 'Marcia' was clearly unwell with a horrendously bad tummy and an overload of internal parasites. Now receiving treatment and her condition has improved overnight.

Say hello to 'Rita' a little juvenile female hedgehog found in the grounds of Sacred Heart School in Thornton this afternoon. She weighs just 300gms, icy cold, in quite poor condition and very hungry. Now tucked up safe and warm on a heat mat.

'Drizzle' arrived a couple of days ago after he was found stuck in a drain and unable to get out. It isn't known how long he had been in there. He's about eight weeks old and is exhibiting signs of severe trauma. He now needs warmth, food and peace and quiet in order to recover from this.

Really pleased with Mario's progress over the past few weeks. A big difference from the scrawny little thing he was on admission with a bad case of ringworm. Hopefully he will be ready for release sometime this week.

This very large male weighing 1.25kg was brought to me after the finder saw him on their garden cams with what she suspected was ringworm on his nose. I don't think it is ringworm, he has a scab on his nose which has not healed underneath. It looks more like being caused by consistently pushing his nose underneath something. Quite often see this if trying to get underneath a small gap in a fence for example. Scab removed, wound and tips of ears treated. Can be released back into his garden in the next day or so but I suspect the nose problem may persist. We will have to see......
