This National Volunteers’ Week, The Friends of Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge School would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing volunteers.

Your time, energy, dedication, and support help make everything we do possible. Whether you’re volunteering at events, helping with fundraising, supporting activities, or working behind the scenes, your contribution makes a real difference to our school community.

Don’t forget class photos tomorrow

Children are to go into school in their uniform, if they have PE they are to bring their kit with them to change into later in the day.

Don’t forget this Friday is a dress down day for donations towards Friends of the forest. £1 donation or an item from the below list. Many can be purchased via Amazon next day delivery.

We are seeking donations of new or unwanted tools to support our forest school sessions, where children learn practical woodworking skills in an outdoor environment. Items such as hammers, hand drills, saws, tools, and sandpaper would be greatly appreciated. Your contributions will help provide hands-on learning opportunities, build confidence, and encourage creativity while connecting young people with nature. If you have any tools to spare, we would be grateful for your support.

The children have had an amazing first day back at school! To celebrate our transition to becoming an academy, the teachers have been working with the children to create self-portrait images for our school tea towel fundraiser.

The tea towels will be available to purchase for £4.99 each.

Friends of Coalbrookdale are looking for prizes and gift vouchers for our Summer Raffle!

Do you, a family member, or your employer work for a company that may be able to donate a prize, voucher, experience, or hamper? Every donation — big or small — helps us raise valuable funds for the children at Coalbrookdale. 💛

Some ideas include:

As you are aware, on Monday 1 June, the day we return after half term, Coalbrookdale will officially convert to the Diocese of Hereford Multi Academy Trust. This is an exciting milestone for our school, and school will be spending the day celebrating everything that makes Coalbrookdale such a special place to learn and grow.

The Friends have arranged for King Cone ice cream van hire telford & Shropshire to visit school at 2pm on Monday 1t June.

*Children do not need to bring any money for this treat.*

School would also like to hold a small celebratory tea party during the day. Children are welcome to bring in one shop-bought, packaged food item to share as part of the celebration.

The friends of Coalbrookdale are again this year supporting school with the purchase of the straw for the children’s scarecrow projects.

Pop along and support this local event and see the scarecrows the children have made displayed along the bottom playground railings.
