Severn Gorge Countryside Trust The Trust aims to promote, protect and conserve the living landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge

Severn Gorge Countryside Trust works to balance the conservation and enhancement of landscape, wildlife and public access, and also to reinforce the cultural importance of the special areas under its management. All of our landholdings are open to the public to explore and enjoy, and a network of waymarked paths and trails have been established through the woods and meadows of Ironbridge, Coalbrookdale, Jackfield, Coalport, Madeley, Barrow and Broseley.

⚠️Please take extra care when driving! ⚠️

At this time of the year we see more collisions between cars and deer, as the changing light levels mean commuting time clashes with when they are most active.

Please be extra vigilant when driving, especially in the mornings and evenings!

Today our volunteers have been helping us with lots of different tasks around our office on Darby Road. They've repaired a section of fencing in Wilderness meadows, ahead of the sheep going in to graze this winter. They have also built some bird boxes, tidied and re-woven the willow dome, planted some new pollinator friendly species in the office garden plus lots more! A productive day, thank you everyone for all your help!

Today our wonderful volunteers were joined by a small team from to tackle more or the laurel and rhododendron in Lloyds Coppice. We worked in the area around the ice house, cutting and stacking the larger laurel and pulling out the small saplings where we could! We also repaired a few broken steps whilst one site.

Thanks to everyone for their hard work today đź’Ş
