It's Children of Foster Carers Week, and here at Empower we are taking a moment to reflect on the generosity of all those who open their homes and their hearts to our young people at Empower Fostering

At Empower Fostering our mission is to open our hearts and homes to every young person.

This week, it is Children of Foster Carers week and we’re shining a light on the incredible Foster Carers, children and young people who open their hearts and homes to children who need a safe, welcoming, loving and supportive place to stay. 🏡💕

Welcoming other children into your home can bring lots of exciting experiences, fun and memories alongside challenges and changes. We want to say a big thank you and to recognise the patience, understanding and kindness they show every day.

Empower Family Group are saddened to hear of the passing of Dame Esther Rantzen, who many of you will know as the presenter and journalist.

We know her as the founder of Childline. Founded in 1986, they have helped countless children and young people over the years and Esther’s tireless work remains an inspiration to us at Empower, who will continue her legacy with the work we do each day, empowering our own young people by working together to provide the best care and learning experiences.

For the next two weeks, we’re celebrating the incredible foster carers who provide safety, stability, and care to children when they need it most.

A favourite meal.
A cuddle after a hard day.
Someone reminding them to have a drink.
Knowing somebody will still be there tomorrow.

Foster Care Fortnight matters because fostering changes lives, not through perfection, but through consistency, patience, and care.

To every foster carer, thank you for the love you give, the patience you show, and the consistency that helps children to feel safe enough to be children.
