We are parents & carers of children at Tarbert Academy who want to work with the teachers and leadership team at our school to ensure the best possible educational experience for every child at the school. Our main aim is to help the school operate successfully, and to try to represent all parents & carers by promoting close cooperation between the parent forum (you & me!) and the school:
By atte
nding Parent Council meetings once a month during term time, we are ensuring that the voices of parents & carers are heard by the school, and that our feedback and ideas form part of the school’s day to day work, as well as the planning and improvement of the school’s future activities and goals. We act as a place where parents & carers can share ideas, interests and skills for the benefit of the school:
Schools face ever increasing funding cuts, so pulling resources and opportunities in from our wider village community is really important. We support the education and welfare of the children at our school:
Our fundraising activities allow us to contribute to the day to day work of teaching and supporting the children of Tarbert Academy, bringing down costs for families and enabling the school to purchase equipment and resources that would otherwise fall outside of school budgets. Recent Parent Council funding has made possible the purchase of updated Maths, IT, History and Geography textbooks, French dictionaries, and much needed Physics equipment; it has brought down costs for a Geography field-trip, a Primary trip to Bannockburn, and a Secondary theatre trip to Edinburgh; we have contributed funds to purchase outdoor clothing & Forest School equipment, training for Forest School parent volunteers, and new resources to tackle cyber-bullying. We would love your help to continue these fundraising efforts!
