FIVE MINUTES COULD HELP MAKE THE CASE FOR MORE HOUSING IN TARBERT AND SKIPNESS

If you haven’t yet completed Argyll and Bute Council’s housing survey, please take a few minutes to do it before it closes on Friday 4 September.

Why does it matter?

The Council is developing a new Local Housing Strategy which will help determine where future housing investment is needed.

We know that finding suitable, affordable housing in Tarbert and Skipness can be difficult. But to make the case for future investment, we need the evidence to back that up and your response to this survey is part of that evidence.

It takes around five minutes to complete, just click the link below.

If local housing matters to you, your family or our community, please make your voice heard.

If you have an opinion on the Council's proposed Vistor Levy then make your voice heard on the Online Visitor Levy Webinars.

Sign up for our Visitor Levy consultation webinars.

Find out what the proposed fixed rate Visitor Levy could mean for Argyll and Bute and have your questions answered at our online webinars:

• 25 August, 6pm-7pm
• 22 September, 1pm-2pm

A visitor levy could raise millions of pounds for investment in the local visitor economy, to benefit residents, visitors and businesses, by helping to sustain Argyll and Bute as a choice destination while addressing the pressures tourism can put on infrastructure and services.

Happy birthday Fèis an Tairbeirt - we'll look forward to celebrating with you over the weekend.

Happy birthday Fèis an Tairbeirt - we'll look forward to celebrating with you over the weekend.

We are turning 10 and we're holding a couple of events this weekend to celebrate.

For musically-minded older kids, a come and try taster session for beginners will take place on Sunday 30 August from 10am-12.30pm.

Anyone aged between 8-18 can book a place for tuition in various instruments for £15.

Instruments will be provided and attendees will get tuition in fiddle, whistles, bodhran and guitar. The session will end with a small ceilidh with tutors teaching the young people some fun Gaelic songs.

Places are limited, so early booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment.

Booking for all events can be done through Eventbrite by searching for Fèis an Tairbeirt.

The main birthday celebration will see some of our young learners take to the stage in the Tarbert Marina Marquee on Saturday 29 August at 5.30pm to play some traditional music and songs.

They will then join the Fyne Thyme to play some dance sets as part of a family ceilidh at this free event for all the community.

The theme for our 10th anniversary celebrations is Deich Bliadhna Còmhla - ten years together.

We’d love people of all ages to come along, join in the celebrations and help us mark this special milestone. Whether you’re a long-standing supporter or have never been to a Fèis an Tairbeirt event before, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

TARBERT & SKIPNESS HOUSING SURVEY – HAVE YOUR SAY

Lack of suitable housing is a real issue in Tarbert and Skipness and this is our opportunity to make sure that need is recognised.

Argyll and Bute Council is developing its new Local Housing Strategy, which will help shape future housing priorities and investment across the area.

We need strong local evidence to show that Tarbert and Skipness need more suitable, affordable and social housing. The more people who complete the survey, the clearer that message will be.

The survey takes around five minutes to complete and closes on 4 September.

Please complete the survey by clicking the link below and help make sure the housing needs of Tarbert and Skipness are heard.
