With great pride and devotion, people gathered in Swindon on 19th February to celebrate the Jayanti of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj organised by Swindon Mitra Mandal and Swindon Hindu Temple.
The evening was filled with inspiration as Sushil ji Rapatwar from London shared powerful stories from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, reminding us of his courage, vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to Dharma and justice.
Devotees offered floral tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with deep respect and gratitude. The atmosphere then echoed with energetic Shiv Garjana, followed by soulful Shiv Aarti (written by Savarkar ji and sung by Lata Mangeshkar ji), bringing everyone together in devotion and pride. The celebration concluded with prasad shared among all.
It was heartwarming to see such wonderful participation from families, with many women, children, and community members joining the occasion and making the event truly memorable.
The life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj continues to inspire us even today. His values of fearless leadership, respect for women, good governance, unity, self-belief, readiness to fight against religious extremism & evil forces and love for the motherland remain timeless lessons for every generation. In today’s world, his example teaches us to stand for truth, protect our values, and lead with courage and compassion.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this celebration a grand success.
Jai Bhavani! Jai Shivaji!
