Promoting good well-being by resilience through nature. To join him in what ever or where ever heaven may be.

2.

https://www.justgiving.com/page/john-bell-aka-dadpool-suicide-prevention Losing a child is said to be the worst trauma any parent will be subjected to. Charity Director: John Bell

After John lost his 15 year son, Jake Bell, on the 17th July 2020, all he wanted to do was find a way to be with him again. This meant visiting the darkest place in his mind; a place no one should have to go. It affecte

d his mental well-being, resulting in negative repercussions for himself and his family.

Through suffering this level of grief and trauma and finding solace in the mountains and nature reserves through the first year of his grief, he final came to terms with the fact that there were two ways he could be with him again:

1. To carry on living everyday with joy and compassion in his heart from the love he has for is boy.

To join him in the afterlife is no longer an option for Jake's dad, it is about seeing other alternatives and showing others that we can come through our trauma and that there is hope to find joy again. John has chosen to dedicate his life to sharing his love for Jake and use the strength from that love to help others.

Being Ex-Army, he spent the first year after Jake's passing, pushing himself through physical challenges to counter balance his mental struggles. This led to John being able to find a place of solitude in the great outdoors and building resilience through nature. This story shows what a father is capable of, with an aim to achieve something truly beautiful as a legacy to his boy. Through the love he has for his son, John wants to make sure that no one else has to suffer the way he is suffering. He knows that Jake is with him all the way, in his heart and memories, guiding him to help others.

Everyone has a right to feel happy, peaceful, safe and loved. Why would we want to have a negative impact on others when we can have a positive impact, showing care, kindness, respect and compassion and to lift each other up.

💚🥾 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 & 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 | 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝟲𝗣𝗠 🥾💚

Tonight we're back at Kings Mill Reservoir for our weekly Walking 4 Hope Walk & Talk.

These evenings may start with a walk, but they've become about so much more than that.

They're about people meeting people.

Friendships forming between people who might never otherwise have met. Familiar faces returning.

New faces taking that first step through the door. People sharing stories, laughing together, supporting one another and simply enjoying some time in good company.

There are no expectations about how far you can walk, how fit you are or whether you've been before.

Being yourself is enough. 💚

Whether tonight is your first time joining us, you've been coming for months, or it's been a while since we've seen you, everyone is welcome.

📍 Costa Coffee, Kings Mill Reservoir

🕕 Meet from 6:00pm

🥾 Setting off around 6:15pm

Come and spend a couple of hours with some good people.

Take the first step. We'll take the rest together. 💚

“𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆.”

In a world that often encourages us to dwell on the past or worry about the future, this quote is a simple reminder to bring our attention back to today.

At Talking 4 Hope, we provide a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental space where adults can come together, connect and support one another.

Whether you're joining us for the first time or have attended before, you will be welcomed with kindness and respect.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do is give ourselves the time and space to simply be present.

We look forward to welcoming everyone tonight. 💚

“Nothing is worth more than this day.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Sometimes our minds take us backwards into things we cannot change, or forwards into things that haven't even happened yet.

And sometimes, life becomes a little more manageable when we bring ourselves back to where we actually are — today.

At Talking 4 Hope, nobody is expected to have life figured out.

You don't need to arrive feeling positive.

You don't need to have the answers.

And you certainly don't need to pretend everything is okay.

We're simply a group of people coming together, sharing a little time, conversation and human connection in a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

If you've thought about joining us before but haven't quite made it through the door, you're welcome to give us a try tonight.

Come for a brew. Come to listen. Join the conversation if you want to. There is no pressure to share anything you're not comfortable sharing.

💚🥾 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 & 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 | 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝟲𝗣𝗠 💚

Our weekly Walking 4 Hope Walk & Talk is back tonight at Kings Mill Reservoir.

These evenings are about something very simple — people coming together.

Every week looks a little different. We see familiar faces, welcome people we haven't seen for a while, and regularly meet someone taking that first step and joining us for the first time.

There are no expectations and no pressure. Come along, enjoy some fresh air, meet people and be part of a welcoming community.

It doesn't matter whether you join us for one lap or stay for longer. It's not about the miles — it's about connection. 💚

📍 Meet at Costa Coffee, Kings Mill Reservoir
🕕 From 6:00pm
🥾 Setting off around 6:15pm

If you've been considering joining us, we'd love to welcome you this evening.

And to everyone who continues to show up and make these walks what they are — thank you.

💚 Take the first step. We'll take the rest together.

𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝟰 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 💚

“Hope doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it sounds like someone listening.”

At Walking 4 Hope, we believe in the value of human connection.

Sometimes people don't need answers. They don't need advice, and they don't need somebody trying to fix what they're going through.

Sometimes they simply need to feel heard.

Talking 4 Hope provides a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental peer support space for adults aged 18+, where people can come together without pressure or expectation.

You don't need to be in crisis to attend.

You don't need to have the right words.

And you don't need to explain or justify why you've decided to come along.

Whether you've attended before or you're considering joining us for the first time tonight, you will be welcomed with kindness and respect.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱. 💚

Please give Talking 4 Hope a follow and share their post. You never know who in your world might need to know that somewhere like this exists.

𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝟰 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘 💚💛

“Hope doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it sounds like someone listening.”

Sometimes life feels heavy.

Sometimes we can lose a little faith in ourselves, in other people, or simply in the world around us.

And sometimes we don't need somebody to give us the answers. We just need somewhere we can talk and know that somebody is genuinely listening.

That's what 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟰 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 is here for.

A welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental peer support group for anyone aged 18+.

You don't need to be in crisis.

You don't need to know what you're going to say.

You don't need to arrive feeling positive.

Just come as you are.

If you've been thinking about joining us for the first time, we understand that walking through an unfamiliar door can feel daunting. We'll do everything we can to make that first visit feel comfortable and welcoming.

Sometimes hope isn't a huge life-changing moment.

Sometimes it's a conversation.
A little laughter.
Being heard.
Or simply discovering that there are still people willing to listen.

“Because you are alive, everything is possible.” — Thích Nhất Hạnh
Tonight, our Talking 4 Hope peer support group opens its doors once again.

We know that attending a support group for the first time can feel daunting, so we want anyone considering joining us to know that there is no pressure and no expectation.

You don't need to be in crisis. You don't need to have the right words.

You can simply come along and see what we're about.

Talking 4 Hope is a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental space for adults aged 18+, where people can talk, listen and support one another.

Whether you've joined us before or you're considering coming for the very first time, you are welcome. 💚

“Because you are alive, everything is possible.” — Thích Nhất Hạnh

Sometimes we don't need answers.

Sometimes we don't need advice.

Sometimes we just need somewhere we can go where we're allowed to talk, allowed to listen, and allowed to have whatever kind of week we've had.

That's what we want Talking 4 Hope to be.

A welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental peer support space for anyone aged 18+.

You don't need to be in crisis to come along.

You don't need to know what you're going to say.

And if tonight would be your first time, please don't worry about knowing anybody or wondering whether you'll fit in. We'll welcome you when you arrive and help you settle in.

There is no pressure to have the right words, and no expectation to share more than you're comfortable with. Sometimes being around others, listening and knowing there's a safe space available is enough.

Every week, our Walk & Talk reminds us just how important human connection can be.

Some people join us for the very first time. Others return after a break, and many of our regular walkers are there week after week.

No matter how long it's been, everyone receives the same warm welcome.

It's never about how far you can walk or whether you know anyone.

It's about getting outdoors, meeting new people, sharing a conversation if you want to, and simply spending time together in a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental environment.

💚 Everyone is welcome.
💚 There's no pressure to talk.

💚 Grief Support Drop-In – Tomorrow 💚

Just a gentle reminder that our Grief Support Drop-In is taking place tomorrow, and everyone experiencing grief is welcome.

Grief doesn't only follow the loss of a loved one. It can come from the end of a relationship, changes to your health, losing the future you hoped for, or any life-changing experience. Whatever you're carrying, you don't have to carry it alone.

There is no pressure to talk, no expectation to stay for the whole session, and no judgement. You can simply come in, have a brew, sit quietly, listen, or chat if and when you feel ready.

☕ Tea and coffee will be available. 🤝 Everything shared is treated with compassion and confidentiality. 🚗 If transport is a barrier, please get in touch. We may be able to arrange a lift from Mansfield Bus Station, Sutton-in-Ashfield Bus Station, or along the route between them.
