Multiple sclerosis, also known as MS, is a condition that can affect the brain as well as the spinal cord. Symptoms may include impairment of speech and muscular coordination, blurred vision as well as severe fatigue, all symptoms are caused by damages within the nervous system. However, it is not often that every patient suffering with multiple sclerosis has the same symptoms causing the diagnoses process difficult at times.

Using different forms of media, Tyla Fairbairn has created a documentary series looking at four different people who suffer with multiple sclerosis. Through the series the artist portrays their current situation but also to reveal parts of each person’s personality. By using audio as well as images, the artist has been able to engage viewers into acknowledging the individuals on a more personal level.
