Learn fun and easy Swing Jive dance steps, dance to the big bands of the 1940's, have a sing-along and learn The Stroll when we welcome Susan and Steve for a morning of fun on Tuesday 6th October. They will play all of the favourites, including Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman and Vera Lynn. Refreshments will be served from 10am and the dancing will start at 10:30am. If you do not fancy dancing please do still come along and enjoy the music.

Just to remind you that, next Wednesday, 9th September, in a change to the advertised event, we are delighted to be welcoming Rachel from Winston's Wheels Charity 1191322, a charity set up in the memory of her beloved Staffordshire Bull Terrier Winston, who lost the use of his hind legs in 2017. With the help of a kind stranger, Winston was given a wheelchair and he continued to flourish for another three years. The charity aims to provide more wheels for dogs in need. Rachel will be bringing along four dogs for you all to enjoy. Refreshments will be served from 2:00pm and the talk will start at 2:30pm. Just a reminder that we will be meeting at Painters at the Angel Sudbury on Wednesday this week, 2nd September at 10:30am for a morning of friendship, coffee, cake and chatter. An ideal opportunity to get to know other Oddfellows. Everyone is welcome so please do bring along a friend to join in the fun of friendship month. Please do let us know if you are coming along so that we can make sure we reserve enough space. Hopefully the sun will be shining and we can sit outside. Refreshments will be at your own cost 🫖☕

Join us for a walk a leisurely stroll next Tuesday 1st September around Nowton Park and beyond! On this four-mile walk, we will visit the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds and Hardwick Heath, stopping at St Peter's Church, Nowton. The park and its manor house were built in 1837 and were owned by the Oakes Family. Now a nursing home, the house was once a boarding school attended by Nigel Havers. We will cover mostly parkland and paved areas but it could be uneven so please wear appropriate footwear. It is Friendship month so do please bring along a friend. Meet in the car park for a 10:30am start.

There is a cafeteria on site with toilets so we will be stopping for refreshments after the walk. This will be at your own cost. Parking is available at a cost of £3.00 for over 2 hours and £2 all day for Blue Badge Holders.

A first today today for Sudbury, shouts of more when the speaker finished! Good King Hal certainly entertained, he has some of us crying with laughter 😂
