The Bull Hotel at Long Melford is our venue for our Christmas lunch this year on Wednesday 2nd December. The price of £25 for members and £30 for guests includes a two-course meal with tea or coffee and the service charge. We will be holding a raffle with all money raised going to our chosen charity so please bring along a prize if you are able. Please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. The sunshine certainly brought everyone out this morning. 85 members and guests joined us for a wonderful talk about the history of Tiptree Jam. That’s almost our record!
Thank you to Nick for such a great talk, our volunteers for refreshments and helping with the hall tidy up and to all of those who came along and made it such a great event 😊

Windsor Castle - from medieval fortress to royal palace. Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world. An official residence of King Charles III it has certainly seen major development over the years. This talk with Claire Partner will explore that development, including the restoration after the fire of 1992, and explain its transition from a defensive role along the River Thames to the castle we know and love today.

Nick Wickenden is the Museum Curator and Archivist for Wilkin & Sons at Tiptree. Using an illustrated powerpoint, he will talk about the origins and growth of the jam firm, which celebrated 140 years of making jam in 2025. The Company is proud to have the King's Royal Warrant, something it has enjoyed since 1911.

Why not join us for coffee and a chat at the Quaker Meeting House on Wednesday 18th November? We are trying a new venue this afternoon but the welcoming faces will be the same. We will be there from 2:00pm until 3:45pm so please do come along. A great way to get to know other members. This is a free event for members and anyone interested in finding out more about the Oddfellows, although we do ask for a donation for refreshments if you are able. Just to remind you that our popular event of Kurling is next Thursday 22nd October at 10:30am. Split into two teams and take it in turns to see how many points you can score. A bit of light hearted competition with lots of laughs thrown in. Will you be on the winning team?

Sixty six members and guests came along this afternoon to listen to Gary Jones give his talk ‘Meet the Patients’ and it was certainly worth coming. A wonderful afternoon full of laughter and chatter with friends old and new.
Thank you to Gary for such a great talk, to the volunteers for all of their help and to our members and to our members and guests for coming along 🫖☕️🍪
