🌟 Suffolk Dance Days’ first fundraising event - our Literary Luncheon - was a huge success! 🌟

It was a very well-attended event, with local Suffolk authors hosting tables, delicious food, and interesting conversation.

Thanks to the kind generosity of all who attended, those who donated from afar, and the organisations who contributed their time, services and raffle prizes - we raised over £3,000!

This will enable us to kickstart our plans to offer free dance classes to children in special educational needs (SEN) settings across Suffolk.

Today’s Literary Luncheon was marvellously well attended and a resounding success! 🥳

This was the first event for our newly established not-for-profit, and we were delighted to have Lesley Dolphin interviewing Fiona Castle, as well as a host of local authors with us today for this special event.

Thank you to these special guests and all who attended and generously donated today.

A huge thank you also to Hintlesham Hall Hotel and their staff, and the local businesses and others who kindly donated raffle prizes. 👏

Attendees enjoyed engaging conversations with our guest authors and each other, as well as having the opportunity to learn more about Suffolk Dance Days and our work to provide dance and movement classes for children in Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings.

✨ An Invitation to a Literary Luncheon – Friday 17 October ✨

I’m so excited to be hosting, along with committee members, a very special Literary Luncheon at Hintlesham Hall this October, and I’d love for you to join me.

This isn’t just lunch – it’s a chance to connect with an amazing mix of people: authors, publishers, dancers, and even Silver Swans (older learners of ballet!). It’s an afternoon full of conversation, learning, and inspiration.

One of the highlights will be a unique “in conversation” session with Lesley Dolphin, much-loved former BBC Radio Suffolk presenter, and Fiona Castle OBE, former dancer and widow of entertainer Roy Castle. I know their stories and experiences will both move and inspire us.

But this lunch is also about making a difference. You’ll hear about our new not-for-profit organisation, which will bring the joy of dance into SEN schools, giving children with additional needs opportunities they would otherwise miss. By coming along, you’ll be helping us make this vision a reality.
