Could your family be part of Alveston and Tiddington’s wartime history?

A Roll of Honour recording the names of local men and women who served during the First World War was rescued from a skip a few years ago

Since then, Lt Colonel Martin Grubb has painstakingly researched the people named on it, uncovering their stories and connections to our villages

On Remembrance Sunday, 8th November at 6.30pm, Martin will be sharing his fascinating research at the Home Guard Club

Everyone is welcome, and there’s no need to book, just come along.

You can also scan the QR code on the poster or visit the noticeboard at SPAR to explore the names

Alveston Fete is back! 🐾☕️

🎉 Celebrating 80 Years of the Alveston Village Association! 🎉

What a wonderful day we had yesterday celebrating 80 years of the Alveston Village Association. Villagers of all ages came together to enjoy a fantastic afternoon of community spirit, fascinating local history, and a delicious spread of refreshments

Our historical display showcased how Alveston has changed over the decades, while the village trail gave visitors the chance to explore local buildings and discover how they have evolved over the last 80 years (and more!)

If you missed the celebration, there’s still time to enjoy the display! It will remain at The Malt House until 19th June
