Thanks to our partners at Warwick District Council we will be hosting Safeline for this wonderful workshop in October! See the shared post for more information and to express interest!

A piece of glass. A few hours of creativity. No pressure to talk.

This autumn, Safeline is running free glass art workshops for adult survivors of sexual abuse in partnership with Melissa's Melting Pot, Warwick District Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council across the two districts.

The workshops offer time away from day-to-day life to try something creative, meet others if you want to, and create a piece of artwork that will become part of a community showcase.

No art experience needed. No expectation to tell your story. Just space to create something that is entirely your own.

Places are limited, and we'd love to hear from you if you'd like to take part.

We worked hard this evening to weather proof our fun day!

We've managed to get lots of the activities into the cafe area, which is air conditioned. Still aome activities in the hall, but we'll have cold water available and an earlier start we hope will help!

We'll have crafts in the cafe from 10.30, which we'll clear away so small people can eat in the cool!

We'll finish promptly at 12.30 (or earlier) to give us time to pack away!

This week, we had the huge honour of attending the Warwickshire ChangeMakers Awards, and have been left inspired and humbled by everyone we met.

The initiative, run by the High Sheriff of Warwickshire, alongside Warwickshire County Council, is a celebration of 100 incredible people who have made lasting contributions to their communities. This might be through their volunteering, fundraising, advocacy, campaigning, or other acts of public service; it was wonderful to meet so many community champions, all doing such valuable work throughout Warwickshire. Congratulations to everyone involved!

CMCC is especially proud of our very own Centre Manager Jo Whitten, who received a ChangeMaker Award for her tireless work in the local community. Jo is the beating heart of everything we do here, and her team of staff, trustees, and volunteers couldn’t be any more proud of this achievement. Her leadership, kindness and generosity of spirit are a huge part of what makes CMCC so special and we are all very privileged to be part of this team.

We also want to take this moment to reflect on the wider community who have shaped the Centre. It is only the vibrant and welcoming space it is today because of the residents who support us, and come through our doors every day. So thank you to Jo, thank you to the team of staff and volunteers, and thank you to all of you in our community too!

With the weather on Thursday predicted to get very hot - particularly as the day goes on - we've decided to make some adjustments to Thursdays event.

In order to ensure our guests comfort, and equally as importantly, to give our staff and volunteers time to do the heavy job of packing away and cleaning before we get to peak heat - WE WILL NOW START AT 10.30 AM - we hope the weather will be kind to us and we'll be having so much fun that we don't notice the extreme heat and we can carry on til 12.30, but if conditions become too much we may finish slightly earlier than that, so do please bear with staff and volunteers on the day and follow their instructions!

We won't have inflatables to avoid any risk of small people getting carried away and overheating!

It's still shaping up to be an amazing day - so do please come and see us. Stay hydrated maybe bring a small fan ❤️

At the weekend, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual Volunteers' Thank You Meal – a small way of showing our appreciation for the incredible people who give so generously of their time throughout the year.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Their kindness, dedication, and willingness to help make a real difference to our community every single day.

To each and every one of our volunteers – thank you. We simply couldn't do it without you.

We hope you enjoyed a lovely evening together, and we look forward to another fantastic year working alongside you!
