🔮 Psychic Evening with Heidi – supporting Priory Pools Community Centre!

The Priory Area Community (PAC) Residents Group is organising a special evening to raise funds towards YOUR new Community Centre.

PAC have already been doing some great fundraising for PPCC. Their recent Bat Walk raised £65 for Priory Pools Community Centre and £30 for Warwickshire Bat Group – a brilliant evening that supported both our community project and engaged with local wildlife.

Now they're organising another fundraising event, with all proceeds going towards PPCC. There will also be a raffle with some great prizes on the night.

A massive thank you to Packmores Community Centre, who raised over £350 for us at the Summer Community Fun Day!

This is a great effort - with only a £2 entry fee, the idea was to provide lots of great value activities for the local community to come along and enjoy. Thank you to everyone involved!

🎉 What a fantastic Packmores Community Fun Day!

It was great to be part of the Packmores Community Fun Day - always such a fun event organised by Packmores Community Centre (check out their page for more photos!) and supported by Priory Area Residents Group. The event helped raise funds for the new community centre, and it was great to see everyone come together to make it happen!

🏗️ MEET THE BUILDERS

A big thank you to Harrabin Construction, who came along to meet residents and talk about the new Centre. We’re just waiting for the final permissions to proceed, and are aiming to start building this autumn, while we continue to raise the final funds we need to open in late 2027.

They brought a hard hat & high vis vest for younger visitors to try on — and we loved this amazing cake entered by 8-year-old Reeva in the cake competition, showing the construction site for the new Community Centre! 🎂🏗️

We think we may have found our cake-maker for the groundbreaking ceremony!

NOW WE WANT YOU TO GET INVOLVED

We were chatting to lots of people on Saturday about getting involved. The new Centre will belong to the community, and we want local people to start telling us now if they want to use the space or register to volunteer in 2027!

🎉 We’re delighted to announce two major milestones for Priory Pools Community Centre.🎉

🤩 £2.25 MILLION SECURED

We’ve now secured £2.25 million towards our £2.5 million project, including:

▶ £100,000 from The Clothworkers’ Foundation
▶ £25,000 raised through our Aviva Crowdfunder

The £25k raised through Aviva was a fantastic example of what can happen when a community comes together. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, shared, offered rewards or helped spread the word. We still need to raise the final £250,000 for the final stages and fit-out, so the fundraising continues!

🏗️ WE HAVE APPOINTED OUR BUILDER — HARRABIN CONSTRUCTION

We’ve completed our competitive tender process and are delighted to have appointed Harrabin Construction as the contractor for the new Community Centre.

Harrabin is a local Warwickshire construction company with extensive experience across the education, community, commercial and public sectors. We’re really pleased to be working with an experienced local contractor on this next important step.

We’re hoping to start building this autumn, once the final permissions are in place. The old garages have now been cleared from the site by Warwick District Council ready for work to begin. The photo shows Amanda Burford, our Chair, standing where the centre will be built!

🚧 Site Preparation Beginning: Garage Demolition Update

Demolition of the vacant garages on Lyttelton Road will take place from Friday 31st July to Friday 14th August as part of the preparations for getting ready to build the new Priory Pools Community Centre.

📌 Please don't park in front of Packmores Community Centre or the garages from 7am on Friday 31st July until the work is complete, to allow contractors safe access to the site.

✅ The site will be securely fenced throughout the works.
✅ There will be no weekend working and no work before 8am.

We've put posters up around the site to help remind residents of the temporary parking restrictions.

The Kingfisher Mural has been digitally preserved and will be celebrated in some way within the new Community Centre.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these works are carried out. Together, we're getting closer to starting work on the new Community Centre this autumn.
