Did you know there's a river blessing ceremony around 11:20 am on Sunday 14 June at the Dell in the RSC gardens next to Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon? This follows a church service on the theme of the river from 10am. Everyone is welcome to join - both the service and the river blessing afterwards. These river blessings have seen a resurgence in recent years, blending traditional religious elements with modern environmental concerns.
Over the last few years, River Hope has being doing ceremonies with, and by water, in a variety of ways with local communities – using silence, words, song, music and laying of natural gifts such as non-treated leaves, flowers or crafted objects from natural materials. In the ways of ancient peoples everywhere, including in these Isles for thousands of years, such ceremonies are opportunities to gather together by water with the intention of expressing our love and gratitude for water and Nature in their own ways and make pledges to be better stewards, now and into the future.

Join us as we gather on the banks of the River Avon to bless the waters, highlight the ecological crisis facing our waterways and to reclaim the biblical vision of water as a sacred gift.
