South Warwickshire Local Plan

A Whatsapp community Group has been set up to share information about the Local Plan Consultation and to help you make your representations.

To help us stay connected and coordinate activity around the South Warwickshire Local Plan, we have set up a WhatsApp Community bringing together residents and groups across the affected area.

This is not intended to replace existing Facebook groups, websites, mailing lists or local campaign groups. Those remain important and should continue to be used as they are today. This WhatsApp community is "opt-in" and simply an additional way of making sure people receive the important things quickly - particularly:
council meetings and hearings;
consultation and petition deadlines;
important campaign developments;
documents or websites worth reading (links);
events and public meetings; and
calls to action where communities need to respond quickly.
The main Announcements channel will therefore be used primarily for important updates rather than general conversation. Where more detailed information is available on an existing website, page or elsewhere, we can simply point people towards it rather than trying to duplicate everything. Your parish or local action group may also have its own WhatsApp Community sub-group for more local information and updates.

What to do if you want to join?
If you already use WhatsApp simply click here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Jlutws2EQh111DhxzqPECZ
Then select Join Community.
Find your local Sub-Group and join that too.
If you don't yet have WhatsApp. It is free and straightforward to set up:
Open the App Store on an iPhone or Google Play Store on an Android phone.
Search for WhatsApp Messenger.
Tap Get or Install.
Open WhatsApp and follow the instructions to register your mobile number.
Return to this email, click the link above and select Join Community.
Joining is completely optional. You can also mute notifications or leave at any time! The aim is simply to add another useful tool to the campaign, helping the different communities stay informed, coordinate where appropriate and act together when it matters.

This is the response from Marston Sicca Parish Council

South Warwickshire Local Plan
Deadline for your responses - 23:59 Tuesday 8th September

Marston Sicca Parish Council held an extraordinary meeting on 26th August to further discuss and refine our response to SWLP.
In short…
Marston Sicca Parish Council recognise the requirement for a plan. We are aligned to the need for sustainable growth in South Warwickshire – including the delivery of housing, employment, infrastructure and green public spaces.
We believe that, whilst SWLP outlines some positive strategic objectives and policies, the proposal to locate ~25% of the SWLP total housing and ~50% of Stratford Upon Avon’s housing requirement to the South of Stratford Upon Avon to be unjustified, unsound and undeliverable.
The attached poster gives an overview, meanwhile the link below contains a more detailed set of observations relating to the plan.
https://marstonsicca-pc.gov.uk/.../swlp-marston-sicca.../
How can you submit a response?
Full details about how to respond are on the SWLP link below. The online portal is probably the easiest method.
https://www.southwarwickshire.org.uk/.../publication...
Will your response make a difference?
YES! Please take a look at the details of the plan and suggested areas where the plan fails to meet the soundness test.
If you have any specific questions or queries for the parish council, please do reach out.

The Submission draft version of the South Warwickshire Local Plan is now open for consultation. You can make representations on the Plan until Tuesday 8th September. This is the final draft stage and representations will be considered by the Inspector at the Public Examination. The Plan looks to allocate land for 27,800 new homes in Stratford District by 2050.
You can view the Plan on the dedicated website:
https://www.southwarwickshire.org.uk/swlp/publication-regulation-19-consultation.cfm
