Are concerned about the way that the public open space on new housing estates such as at Meon Vale is maintained through management companies set up by developers with the resultant uncertainty about the service charges and quality of management that residents have to pay?

Please support the campaign organised by HorNet - the Home Owners Rights Network - to end this practice and sign the letter to Matthew Pennycook the Housing and Planning Minister.

This campaign seeks to have public open spaces in new housing areas adopted by the local authority.

We have been campaigning against privately managed estates for over a decade now. Eight years ago we as a network of affected homebuyers and estate residents came to understand that only universal adoption (that means retro as well as pro spective) will rectify the exploitation of estate residents a...

South Warwickshire Local Plan

The agenda for the joint Cabinet meeting of Stratford-on-Avon District Council (SDC) and Warwick District Council (WDC) has now been published: https://orlo.uk/mAl6c
It includes a report on Regulation 19 of the South Warwickshire Local Plan, which is the stage where the proposed plan is considered for submission.
Meeting dates:
• Joint Cabinet meeting: Thursday 28 May
• Stratford-on-Avon District Council meeting: 8 June
• Warwick District Council meeting: 1 June
At these meetings councillors will review and discuss the report and consider next steps.
Public engagement: Please note that this stage of the process is focused on formal consideration of the report by committees. The District Councils are not currently accepting public comments or enquiries on this matter. Further opportunities for public consultation will be clearly communicated when they become available.

MVRA will arrange a General Meeting in June to inform residents of the details so that residents can understand how the plan will affect Meon Vale. There will be a period of 6 weeks when representations to the plan can be made commencing in mid June.

Agenda for Joint Cabinet Committee on Thursday, 28th May, 2026, 6.00 p.m.

Views from our District Councillor on the options for the line of the relief road around Stratford

Bridges and Stratford upon Avon .. continued..

People have strong views about a Relief Road .. they say we need one now…to save Clopton Bridge and the Town Centre, but they don’t want one.

That’s a dilemma.

Clever people, using the Department for Transport methodology and traffic surveys, looked at lots of options.

This is what they had to say (in simple terms):

‘Of the 35 options assessed in 2025, the western corridor W3 was chosen as the preferred route. It would link the A46/West of Shottery Relief Road to Campden Road (B4632), crossing the River Avon and connecting to the B439 Evesham Road. W3 performed best for feasibility, environmental impact, congestion relief, and support for growth at LMA. A combined east–west route was rejected due to higher cost and risk’.

Here are those key options. What do you think is the right thing to do? It’s a genuine question not a trick.
