🎉 Snappy Summer 2026 – Complete! 🎶

What an incredible finalé to a brilliant week! Days 3 & 4 brought fantastic singing from our South Tees schools, a buzzing band, and so much joy from everyone involved 🌟

A huge thank you to all who made Snappy possible — from organisers and performers to support staff and security 💙 A big “well done” to Mrs Robertson for her ever-relentless energy, leading the children and band each day.

Special shoutout to Mr Sawdon, who became a grandad overnight and practically bounced into rehearsal! 👶🎸 As he retires after over two decades at TVMS, Snappy won’t be the same without “Shakin’ Sawdon” — we hope to see a Christmas cameo if Grandad duties allow!

🎶 Snappy Showtime – Day Two! 🌟

Another fantastic day of music-making with schools from across North Tees — St Augustine's Catholic Primary School , Mandale Mill Primary School , Christ the King Primary Thornaby , Fens Primary School , The Oak Tree Academy , Harrow Gate, Norton Primary and a South Tees appearance from Breckon Hill Primary 👏

Hundreds of children took part, backed by our incredible live Snappy Band (TVMS staff on brass, sax, guitar, bass, drums, and piano), with special additions today from Mr Watson (oboe) and Miss Smith (violin) 🎺🎻

Vocals led by Miss Dunn, Mr Harbisher, and Mr Ryan, and under the baton of Mrs Robertson, the morning workshop set the stage for a brilliant 1pm performance for families and carers 🎭

There was so much energy, enthusiasm, and joy — and a standout moment was hearing the boys singing their hearts out with real confidence 🎶💙 All children who took part are warmly invited to join our Tees Valley Training Choir (Wednesdays) — get in touch to find out more!

If you are a parent or carer of a pre-school child, you won't want to miss tomorrow's Small Sounds session, designed to introduce pre-school children to the fun of making music, led by expert tutors from Tees Valley Music Service - TVMS , funded by Cathedral Music Trust.

No need to register; just turn up at the Cathedral just after 4pm. Sessions are free, with a suggested donation of £2 per child to defray costs. Further details from [email protected]

🎶 Snappy Summer 2026 – Showtunes! 🎭

What an incredible day bringing together schools from across Stockton — St Cuthbert’s, St Joseph’s, Tilery, Harewood, St Mark’s, and Bader — for a spectacular celebration of music!

The children were backed by our amazing live Snappy Band, made up of TVMS staff on trombone, trumpet, saxophone, guitar, bass, drums, and piano 🎺🥁🎸
We were led by our fantastic vocal leaders — Mrs Robson, Miss York, and Mr Ryan — supporting our Maestro for the day, Mrs Robertson 👏

The morning kicked off with an energetic 2-hour workshop, where everyone worked hard perfecting the showtunes setlist. Then at 1pm, the children took to the stage and wowed their families and carers with a brilliant performance 🌟

There was so much joy, energy, and talent in the room — and plenty of inspiration too, as children got to see a wide range of instruments they could learn 🎶

✨ Every child who attended is warmly invited to join our Tees Valley Training Choir, rehearsing on Wednesday evenings. If your primary-aged child would love to get involved, feel free to get in touch for more details!
