What an incredible experience at the Refugee Week celebrations! 🎉

The exhibition was absolutely fantastic, and we were so inspired by the young people who shared their creativity, talent, and hard work. Their passion and dedication truly shone through, making the event both memorable and uplifting.

A huge thank you to Five Lamps, Refugee Futures , Stockton Business Centre ESOL group, Diversity Inside Us , and Bizi studio for making this celebration possible and for supporting such amazing opportunities for young people.

Tellmi+ Jobseeker Support, a programme designed to support young people aged 16–30 who may be struggling with their mental health while seeking employment.

The Tellmi app offers a safe, anonymous space for individuals to talk about what’s on their mind, helping them manage their mental wellbeing during their job search and once in work. Alongside this, the Trainmi programme provides a three‑month package of support to build confidence, develop skills, and help participants feel more prepared for their future.

This could be particularly valuable for young people who feel unsure about their next steps, are lacking confidence, or need additional support alongside their employment journey.

Please feel free to share this information with any suitable individuals or teams who may benefit.

On Wednesday 6th May 2026, we were proud to host the Building Bridges to Success Conference at Wynyard Hall, bringing together leaders and professionals from across the public, private, and voluntary sectors.

The event created an important space for meaningful conversations around how stronger partnerships can open up better opportunities for young people across Stockton-on-Tees. By connecting businesses, youth organisations, educators, and civic leaders, we explored practical ways to create more inclusive routes into education, skills development, training, and employment.

Supporting young people requires collaboration, shared ambition, and long-term commitment. This conference highlighted the power of organisations coming together with a common purpose: helping the next generation access the tools, experiences, and support they need to succeed.

A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success, including our speakers, partners, sponsors, and attendees. Special thanks to Wynyard Hall for hosting, alongside all organisations and individuals who continue to champion opportunities for young people in our region.

Together, we can continue building stronger communities, widening access, and creating brighter futures.

🌍 Calling All Young Creatives! 🎨✨
As Refugee Week approaches, we’re inviting talented young people to take part in a special creative project inspired by this year’s theme: Courage.

What does courage mean to you?
Is it starting over in a new place, speaking up for others, helping a friend, or finding strength through challenges?

We’re looking for young artists, makers, and creators to design something meaningful for the celebrations:
🖌️ Drawings & paintings
✂️ Crafts & handmade creations, and more.

Your work can help tell powerful stories of hope, resilience, belonging, and bravery.

Why get involved?
- Showcase your creativity. during Refugee Week celebrations.
- Be part of a project that brings communities together.
- Use art to inspire conversation, empathy, and positive change.

Work will be exhibited at ARC during Refugee Week celebrations.

We also warmly welcome volunteers and supporters who would like to help young people create, organise displays, or support the event in other ways.

🤝 Whether you’re an artist, parent, teacher, youth worker, or community member, your support can make a real difference.

📩 To participate or volunteer, get in touch and join us in celebrating courage, community, and the strength found in diversity.

Together, let’s create something powerful this Refugee Week. ❤️
