Do you love nature and connecting with others? 🐦🍂

We're looking for Winter Wildlife Companions to help launch a special new service running from November to April.

By giving just 15-20 minutes every two weeks, you could make a real difference to an older person's day. Volunteers will visit a member in their home to top up bird feeders, share a friendly chat, and enjoy conversations inspired by the wildlife visiting their garden.

The programme is designed to support people who are housebound by introducing a rewarding new hobby, while creating meaningful connections through a shared love of birds, nature, and the changing seasons.

A fascinating visit at FTG this week! 🍃

We were delighted to welcome Gill Clarke, President of Stamford & District Lions, who gave a wonderful talk about the incredible work the charity does in our local community.

Gill introduced us to the Lions' Talking Newspaper service, which provides free audio recordings of the Rutland & Stamford Mercury delivered by post to subscribers throughout the year, helping people stay connected with local news.

We're also proud to be supporting the Lions by collecting unwanted spectacles. These glasses are sent to people in countries where access to eye care is limited, making a real difference to individuals and communities around the world.

A huge thank you to Gill for sharing her time and inspiring us with the fantastic work of the Lions! 💙👓
