MindSpace Stamford

MindSpace Stamford MindSpace is a Stamford-based charity working to improve mental wellbeing in our community. We invest in local initiatives and work with businesses and schools.

We provide opportunities to be listened to and for connection through a range of activities and events. Founded in 2015 by Dr Dan Petrie, we believe in creating a community where everyone can flourish to live meaningful and satisfying lives. Our charity is supported by a team of trustees, volunteers and of course donations. Our aim is to increase the knowledge and understanding of mental health in

the community, by providing ways to prevent ill health through better conversations. We aim to educate people so that the whole community is better equipped to support loved ones, friends, colleagues and neighbours, decreasing the burden of loneliness and mental ill-health. Our weekly event programme is designed to ensure people are able to incorporate the NHS five ways to wellbeing into their daily lives.

One conversation can make a big difference.
It is what we see everyday.
A kind word, a listening ear, or a moment of genuine connection can light up someone’s day in ways we may never fully realise. When we reach out, we remind each other that no one has to face life’s ups and downs alone.
Connection starts with a conversation - and sometimes, that’s all it takes to help someone feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger.
At MindSpace we are here to listen. Our trained listeners can offer support when you are experiencing life’s challenges. Come in and see us at the hub and check out our timetable of activities.
Scroll along for a bit of connectivity fun - how many of the little actions can you tick off?

Friday is looking warm and sunny 😎

Get your sun hats on and come down to the Wellbeing Garden for family hour!

This is an opportunity to bring your little ones to play and enjoy the outdoors, help out with some watering and garden jobs, enjoy craft activities, and explore the wildlife and plants.

We have shelter, refreshments and cake - and all we ask is a small donation to help us cover our costs.

Book this incredibly soothing and calming experience for mind and body down at The MindSpace Wellbeing Garden.

The lovely Poppie sat and had a chat with us on one of the conversation benches yesterday.
The MindSpace team were out, with a simple mission to be there to listen, to chat, providing a cup of coffee and some cake if people wanted to talk - and to show that a simple conversation, sharing a story, can brighten someone’s day.
We loved getting to talk to Poppie and thought she had some great words of advice too!

This loneliness awareness week, remember that making that small connection can make a big difference to somebody else’s day. 🧡

At MindSpace we have tea and chat sessions every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, and opportunities to talk with someone during many of our activities at the hub.
Pop in and see us!

Conversations, connections, stories… We had it all on the conversation benches today.

We know how important social connections are, so for Loneliness Awareness Week we want to show the power of striking up a conversation and how much better we can feel for it.

We spoke to many people, and over coffee and flapjacks, we talked about driving tests, college courses, bereavement, health scares, massages, autism concerns, summer fairs and music!

Talking can be powerful. Being listened to is undervalued. Give it a try.

We will be out and about on Thursday afternoon as well with more conversation benches!

We were joined by volunteers Ellie and Jess from Ravencourt too!
