St Andrews Environmental Network An award-winning charity that provides free advice and support to reduce Carbon Emissions & promote sustainable living in St Andrews and the surrounding area.

Welcome to St Andrews Environmental Network (StAndEN). We are a charity aiming to reduce CO2 emissions and support the community to work towards living sustainably. We have a number of environmental projects running across North East Fife which are designed to promote sustainability and we can provide free impartial advice on carbon and energy saving. Additionally, we work in partnership with some wonderful organisations- University of St Andrews, Transition, Greener Kirkcaldy- providing a number of fantastic sustainable projects. We are based at The Eco Hub (40 Kinnessburn Road, St Andrews). Here we have a zero waste eco shop & refill station, StAnd Reuse drop off point, advice on living sustainably & a small exhibition space. We have a Community Garden project & deliver the St Andrews Beach Wheelchairs project. We provide volunteering opportunities for both of these projects. If you would like to get involved, contact [email protected]

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and Board member, Bob Inch.

Bob joined the Board of St Andrews Environmental Network in January 2024, but in that relatively short time he made an enormous contribution to our organisation.

He brought experience, wisdom and thoughtful challenge to our work, helping to shape our projects, strengthen our strategy and support us through a period of significant development and growth.

But Bob’s contribution went far beyond what you might expect of a Board member. He genuinely cared about StAndEN, the people involved in it and the communities we serve. He was generous with his time, supportive of our team and always willing to offer his perspective, encouragement and advice.

We are a stronger organisation because Bob was part of it, and his influence will remain in much of what we do.

Most importantly, we will remember Bob as a kind, warm and thoroughly decent man who we were very fortunate to call a friend and colleague.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Clare, Bob’s children, grandchildren and all of his family and friends.

Thank you for everything, Bob. You will be greatly missed. ❤️

July has been our busiest month to date!

105 people enjoyed accessing the West Sands through the use of our beach wheelchairs 👨‍🦽‍➡️

This has meant that lots of various groups including family, friends, care homes and various other groups have been able to access the beach together without anyone being excluded!
