If you want to join Team Southend YMCA this year in the Foulness Bike Ride you must sign up today as there are limited spaces remaining! Join John, Mark and Katharyn this Sunday as they cycle and raise funds for young people in our community! Let us know once you book your place and we can guide you on raising your own sponsorship money for Southend YMCA.

This summer we ran our first Sunflower Growing Competition as part of our ‘Seeds of Support’ campaign, supporting our residents at Newlands. We were delighted that 50 people signed up to take part and we raised over £300. People participated with varying degrees of success and sunflower heights have been submitted! The winner will be announced this weekend and we are already looking forward to next years competition! A huge thanks to everyone who took part!

We are incredibly grateful for the kindness of c2c Rail who enabled us to take a group of our staff, supporters, volunteers and competition winners along to Southend United Football Club this afternoon to watch a very tense game that ended with a fabulous home win for the Shrimpers today! 3️⃣➖2️⃣ We had a great time and are thankful for C2C’s ongoing support of the work we do with young people and families in Southend.

Every Wednesday from 9th September, we will be at Summercourt Family Centre from 10-12, for a fun drop in play session with lots of toys, play dough, sensory play, craft activities and more!

Breastfeeding support and advice available as always too

📣 Take Part in a Creative Research Project on Loneliness and Social Isolation

Are you aged 16-24 and live in or near Tendring or Southend?

Do you sometimes feel lonely or socially isolated?

The University of Essex is looking for young people to take part in a creative research project exploring experiences of loneliness and social isolation. Participants will have the opportunity to create images, such as photographs, that represent their personal experiences and perspectives.

This is a chance to share your voice, contribute to important research, and help improve understanding of the challenges facing young people today.
