🎉 We've secured funding from the Toyota UK Community Fund! 🚗

Southend YMCA is proud to be launching “Stop, Look, Listen, Sing!” - a creative road safety project for primary school children in Prittlewell.

Working with pupils from St Mary’s C of E Primary School, alongside teachers and Toyota Centre volunteers, young people will write and record an original song promoting safer journeys 🎶

Through hands-on songwriting and music video production workshops, children will:

Learn new creative skills
Explore important road safety messages
Build confidence and teamwork

The finished track and an accompanying music video will be shared with schools, families, and the wider community - helping make vital safety advice more engaging, memorable, and accessible.

We’re especially committed to ensuring inclusive participation, with a focus on supporting children with SEND and those from vulnerable backgrounds.

Come and see us delivering some drop-in music activity for children and families in The Victoria Shopping Centre, Southend from 10:00 til 16:00! 🎶🎸

🎉 We’ve got some amazing news to share… 🎉

Southend YMCA's All In Music team has been awarded funding from Youth Music’s Open Door programme! 🙌

This means we can keep on doing what we love most—creating spaces where young people can write songs, make beats, jam together, and discover the power of music. 🎸🥁🎤

And that’s not all… we’ll be expanding the All In Music team very soon! 💼✨

A huge thank you to Youth Music for backing our mission to make music accessible for everyone, and to all of you who support us along the way. 💜

🎶 What a vibe! Yesterday, Southend YMCA lit up The Victoria Shopping Centre, Southend with our Youth Day celebration — and it was electric! 💥

From 11 to 4, young people from our All In Music project took the stage and wowed the crowds with live performances that brought the community together. We connected with local organisations, chatted with families, and celebrated the power of youth voice and creativity. 🙌
