After almost five years held by pirates, how do you begin again?

For Indonesian seafarer Adi Manurung, being released was only the start of rebuilding his life.

Following his ordeal aboard the Naham 3, our Crisis Response Network provided counselling, accompanied him to medical appointments and offered financial assistance as he adjusted to life back home.

With his family fearful of him returning to sea, a Sailors’ Society grant helped Adi find a new livelihood as a pig farmer.
