YMCA South Molton ✟On a big mission to serve our community through our activities, community fridge & cafe. Our cafe menu changes regularly depending on the food donations.

We run a not-for-profit community fridge & cafe on our premise to reduce food waste by stopping food going to landfill. Volunteers and staff collect perfectly good food that local businesses and people don't want and would otherwise throw away, and share it with everyone or turn it into meals and take-aways. The community fridge and cafe is registered with the local environmental health office and has a Grade 5 Food Hygiene rating.

Ready to get crafty? 🎨 Come hang out at our craft group tomorrow from 10am to 12noon!

We’re getting creative and learning how to make beautiful paper napkin roses. 🌹 Whether you're a crafting pro or just want to try something new, you are so welcome to join us.

Soup's up at the community cafe! 🍲
Today we're serving a hearty, comforting soup made from donated onions, garlic, carrots, celery, and cauliflower. We roasted them all up with fresh herbs straight from our garden! 🌿

We are feeling incredibly spoilt and grateful to the amazing local businesses who regularly support our community cafe. Thank you for helping us feed the community! A massive shoutout to:
Gourmet Sausage Rolls from The Exmoor Feasting Company 🥐Artisan Sourdough from Lucho Bakes 🥖

These fantastic treats are available at the community cafe today to perfectly compliment our fresh soup:

There is plenty of cakes & pastries to round off your meal, plus fresh coffee from our espresso machine ☕

As always, the community fridge is packed with bread and veggies for you to help yourselves to.

A Food Bank client is expecting a litter of kittens soon and needs a little extra help getting ready. We would greatly appreciate any donation to support this furry mum-to-be.

Items needed:
Cat & kitten food (wet & dry)

Hey everyone! We have a quick update about our hours starting tomorrow, Monday 1st June.

To keep things sustainable for our small team of just two part-time staff, we are scaling down our timetable. We will miss seeing your lovely faces as often, but we are still very much here for you ❤️

Here is our new weekly schedule:
☕ Tuesdays (9:30 AM - 12:00 PM): The café and community fridge are open! Hazel will be cooking up warm bacon baps 🥓 the espresso machine will be fired up, and there is always plenty of pastries and cakes for those with a sweet tooth.

🍞 Wednesdays: Any available bread, veg, and fruit donations will be left in our outside shed for you to collect🍅

🥣 Thursdays (12:30 PM - 3:00 PM): The café and community fridge are open! Pop in for homemade soup, pastries/cakes & proper barista coffee.

🎨 2nd & 4th Friday of the month (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) Our craft group is still running. Join us for craft, cake, and great company. 🍰

🌾 Food Bank Reminder: This change does not affect South Molton Food Bank. It remains open as usual on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

☕️ The Community Fridge & Café is BACK today! 🥐

We are open from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. Here is what we have for you today:

Home made soup
Yummy pastries
Sweet treats
Barista coffee

Our espresso machine is fired up and ready. Pull up a chair, enjoy a drink, and share a lovely chat with your neighbours. This is a warm space for everyone in our community to eat together and connect.

Before you leave, make sure to look inside the community fridge. Grab some food to take home and help us fight food waste 🥬🥔🥕🍅
