Today our Community Development Team attended the Marketplace event at Three Trees in Chelmsley Wood.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local community groups, share ideas, and engage with residents.

💙 Cancer Bus Visit at The Fordbridge Centre 💙

Today, we were delighted to welcome the Cancer Bus to The Fordbridge Centre, providing local residents with access to FREE health checks, cancer screening information, and expert advice from NHS healthcare professionals.

Early diagnosis can save lives, and visitors had the opportunity to:

✅ Learn about cancer signs and symptoms
✅ Receive healthy lifestyle advice
✅ Speak directly with healthcare professionals
✅ Find out about local support services

💜 We were also pleased to have the Mobile Cervical Screening Service in attendance, helping to make vital screening services more accessible within our community.

It was fantastic to be joined by our local councillors, and we were also pleased to welcome Saqib Bhatti who came along to support this important initiative and meet with residents and healthcare teams.

A huge thank you to The Fordbridge Centre & Senior Moments session for kindly hosting the tour and for their continued support of our amazing NHS and local community. 🙌✨

Together, we can help raise awareness, encourage screening, and support earlier diagnosis.

We were delighted to be part of this wonderful opening and to celebrate the new Solihull Family Hubs Garden! 🌿🌸

We recognise that this beautiful space will be a fantastic addition to the community, providing a welcoming place for families and residents to enjoy.

A new community garden has opened at Riverside Family Hub in Chelmsley Wood 🏡

What was previously an unused area around the Best Start Family Hub has been transformed into a welcoming, modern outdoor space for Solihull families to enjoy 🫶

The garden, comprised of creative, sensory, and adult relaxation areas, was made possible thanks to a successful £49,828 bid to the Severn Trent Community Fund 🪙

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at the community fun day at Elmwood Solihull Family Hubs! 💙
The children watched a brilliant magic show and disco (with prizes!) by Brian from Non-stop Kids Entertainment 🔮

📢 Misinformation & Disinformation Training for Community Groups

As misinformation and disinformation become increasingly common online, Solihull Council's Community Safety Team is offering a free one-hour webinar to help community groups better understand and navigate these challenges.

Topics include:
✅ What misinformation and disinformation are
✅ How they have evolved in recent years
✅ The role of social media algorithms
✅ Practical tips to reduce their impact

Attendees will receive a PDF copy of the presentation slides and a supporting resource pack.
