Amazing news for young people in Snodland.

We've been awarded a grant from Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Social Investment Business to boost our youth service, reach more young people, and create safe spaces and new opportunities for them to have fun, make friends and gain new skills for life and work.

The funding will pay for a brand-new Scout centre, and we can’t wait to open our doors to the young people. It’s an innovative project that will be built off-site and delivered to us! It means the construction time will be rapid, and young people will soon be reaping the benefits. Having a brand-new Scout centre means that our space will be here for young people today and for so many generations to come.

Construction has commenced so keep an eye out for our updates!

While the vast majority of the project costs are covered by grant funding, there's still plenty needed to help turn the building into a welcoming and practical home for the group. They'll need kitchen appliances, tables, benches, meeting room equipment, and of course a lick of paint to make the place their own.

If you, your business, or anyone in your network might be able to help through donations, discounted equipment, materials, or other support, I'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch and let's see how we can help this great local group create a space that will benefit young people for years to come.

Thank you for any support you can offer, and please feel free to share this post.

This Volunteering Week join us in saying a huge THANK YOU to all of the incredible adult volunteers at 1st Snodland Scout Group.

Whether you’re leading activities, planning programmes, organising events, managing paperwork, maintaining equipment, supporting camps, fundraising, or simply lending a hand whenever it’s needed, you make Scouting possible for our young people.

Every week you give up your time, energy, skills and enthusiasm to help our members learn new skills, gain confidence, make friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Volunteers are the heart of our Scout Group, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do. Thank you for your dedication, commitment and support throughout the year.

1st Snodland Scouts wouldn’t be the same without you.

📝 Diary Date - As the physical works at All Saints Church is nearing completion, we invite the community to join us for our 1st Open afternoon:

🗓 Saturday 16th May
⏰️ 2-4pm
⛪️ All Saints Church, Mill Street, Snodland. ME6 5AT (near the station)
🚗 Parking available by kind permission of Smurfit Westrock opposite the church.

Come & find out more about the project and what restoration and improvement works have been completed at our Grade 1 listed Church

This project would not have been possible without our grant from the The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to the National Lottery players. Thank you 🙏

🗣 During the open afternoon you'll get a chance to speak to some of the specialists who have worked on the building and ask questions.

👂 Plus hear what other exciting work and events we have planned with the community over the next few months. And you can find out more about how you could get involved, learn more about the heritage and be part of preserving All Saints into the future.

🆓️ This is a FREE event. All are welcome to come along. Refreshments will be available ☕️🍪

We look forward to seeing you there 😊
