Volunteer opportunities

Are you looking for an opportunity for volunteer, support local families, be a friendly ear, and be part of a great team.

We'd love to welcome additional volunteers into our group.

We run term time Friday mornings from 9am to 11.45am in Slawit Community Hall.
Each week, we set up the toys and play zones, welcome the parents and children, provide brews, healthy snack for kids, mini song time, and tidy up.

It's a lovely group and we all have so much fun. You don't have to commit to each week, when you can attend.

Any questions please do reach out, please share with anyone who would be interested.

📣 We are overjoyed to announce.

Bosom Buddies will be joining us every Friday morning!

Huddersfield Bosom Buddies to bring its community-focused support to the Colne Valley from September

A popular breastfeeding support group is expanding into the Colne Valley with the launch of a new free session in Slaithwaite.

Huddersfield Bosom Buddies, which was established in 2021 by a group of volunteers, has supported hundreds of families through its existing group in Holmfirth.

The volunteer-run organisation has now secured additional funding to launch a second session in Slaithwaite, providing support to women and families during what can be a particularly vulnerable period following the birth of a baby.

The new session will run during term time alongside the Slaithwaite Community Baby and Toddler Group (BaTs) at Slaithwaite Community Centre on Bank Gate.

We're back Friday at 9.30, and for the next two weeks we'll be selling Dunk race tickets, so bring some extra coins and support an amazing event in your community.

Do you know that we are a volunteer run group?

Yeah, all of us, all there to support our local community of parents and kids each week, with a safe, fun and welcoming space.

If you're interested in volunteering, next week is volunteers week. Have a quick search to see where you can help out.

We always welcome more volunteers to keep the group going.
