🍂 September in the Yorkshire Dales – why not plan an accessible autumn break?

The summer holidays may be over, but there’s still plenty of time to enjoy a break in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. As the seasons change and the countryside begins to turn golden, September and October are a wonderful time to visit. 🍁

At The Beamsley Project Charitable Trust, we still have some availability in both our fully accessible properties:

🏡 Group Centre – sleeps up to 24 guests across 8 bedrooms
🏠 Holiday Cottage – sleeps up to 6 guests

Our accommodation is designed to make holidays more accessible and comfortable for everyone, with equipment including:

♿ Profiling beds
♿ Ceiling and mobile hoists
🚿 Wet rooms
🛁 Shower chairs and commodes
🍳 Adjustable-height kitchen facilities
🛏️ A range of additional support equipment

And with the beautiful Yorkshire Dales on your doorstep, there’s plenty to enjoy – from autumn walks and stunning scenery to local attractions, villages and cosy days exploring the area. 🍂

Remember before facebook, Instagram, phones… we went on a trip and sent postcards home. It was lovely to spend time choosing them, to sit and write them, to imagine happy faces when friends and family receive them.

There’s something so lovely about receiving a handwritten postcard.

As we celebrate 30 years of providing fully accessible holiday accommodation for people with disabilities, we're looking ahead to the next 30 years – and we're looking for new Trustees to join our volunteer Board.
If you're passionate about accessibility, inclusion, and making a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
We're particularly interested in people with experience in:
🔹 Law or legal services
🔹 Finance or accountancy
🔹 Architecture, building or property
🔹 Tourism and hospitality
🔹 Disability services, health, education or lived experience of disability
You don't need previous trustee experience – just a willingness to share your skills, ideas and enthusiasm to help guide our charity into the future.
This is a rewarding volunteer role where you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact, helping us continue to provide accessible, affordable holidays for groups and families with additional needs.

It's taken us well over a week to come down from the excitement of our 30th Birthday Celebration! 🎉
What an incredible day it was! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, performed, ran a stall, supported us behind the scenes or came along to celebrate. You helped make it a day we'll never forget.

A great little trail organised by Skipton BID There are so many things going on in Skipton this summer. Don’t miss out on the fun. We still have some availability for August so getting planning

Join us on Saturday (July 25th) by the canal on Coach Street for the launch of a fun new nature trail through Skipton, with wildlife stops, audio clips and the story of Bombus to follow along the way.😃

It’s a fantastic chance to explore what nature has to offer right here in Skipton…✨
