This week is Volunteers’ Week, and we want to shout out a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers - past and present. 💛

Many of you have been with us since the Covid pandemic, showing up week after week with warmth, commitment, and care. You’ve sat with people who felt lonely, walked alongside those who needed support, and helped build something really special in our community.

To every volunteer who has ever given their time to SSIA - thank you. You are the heart of what we do. 🧡

Amp-Music-music run sessions in Bentham and are looking for new Trustees

Are you an open minded, positive thinking team player with a willingness to learn and a belief that young people from all backgrounds should have access to music opportunities?



AMP is seeking motivated and dynamic individuals from age 18 upwards who are passionate about wanting the voices of young people to be heard. We are looking for trustees, young trustees (aged 30 and under), and a Co-Chair.



We would particularly like to hear from people with expertise in communications, fundraising, alternative education provision, advocacy, and legal expertise. We would also like to hear from people from under-represented and marginalised groups, and with lived experience of North Yorkshire, ideally currently or as a young person.

Mind Tea and Talk is a friendly and informal community group that aims to reduce social isolation and support wellbeing by providing a safe, welcoming space for people to connect over a cup of tea and conversation.

They hold sessions locally at

Anchor Care Home, Shipley BD18 4SG - Tuesday 2nd of June 2pm-4pm
The Bothy, Shipley BD18 3PY - Wednesday 10th of June 2pm-4pm

Fisher Medical Practice, Skipton BD23 1EU - Friday 26th of June 1pm-3pm

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧! 🫖🍰💐

On Saturday 16th May, over 90 members of our community came together at Skipton Town Hall for our annual Step Into Summer fundraiser - and we raised an incredible £790+!

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day so special: our amazing SSIA friends & volunteers (including those who donated raffle prizes!), Skipton Craven Rotary Club, The Skipton Choir, and the brilliant team at Skipton Town Hall.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our raffle prize donors Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, AJ Café Bistro, Complete Car Valeting and Detailing, and Skipton Hotel - for their generous support. 🙏

Every penny raised goes towards supporting adults in our community facing loneliness and isolation. Thank you, Skipton! 💛
