💙 "It has massively given me so much more confidence to try new things with my babies and has improved my mental health to a level I can't remember ever being."

This is the power of respite.

⛱Recently, we supported a single mum and her two daughters with a free family break. Like many families we help, finances had made it difficult to enjoy experiences and activities together, and concerns around crowds and noise for her autistic daughter often made trying new things feel overwhelming.

But during their holiday, something wonderful happened.

✨ They took part in activities they never thought possible.
✨ Her daughters threw themselves into a children's club and loved every minute.
✨ Her autistic daughter conquered her fear of swimming and now absolutely loves being in the water.
✨ Most importantly, the family grew in confidence, made precious memories together and discovered new possibilities for the future.

Reflecting on the break, mum told us:

"I am on such a high after this holiday and I couldn't appreciate it any more than I do."

💛She also shared that this was the very first family holiday she had ever been able to take her girls on.

At The Principle Trust Children's Charity, we know that a respite break is about so much more than a holiday. It's about giving families the opportunity to rest, reconnect, build confidence, improve wellbeing and create positive memories that last a lifetime.

👏Thank you to everyone who supports our work. Because of you, families facing adversity, mental health challenges, poverty, trauma and additional challenges are able to experience moments of joy, hope and togetherness when they need them most.

Thank you for helping us make memories that last!

⛰️⛰️⛰️Last weekend, Joe from Language is Everything and his friends took on the incredible UK 3 Peaks Challenge - covering 37 kilometres of walking and 10,052 feet of elevation, all within 24 hours to raise money for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity.

What an amazing achievement and commitment to supporting families from Yorkshire who desperately need a break away together.

💛Joe shared that it was “one of the hardest physical and mental challenges” he’s ever faced, but one he was proud to complete in support of a cause close to his heart. We are incredibly grateful to Joe, his friends, and everyone at Language is Everything for their continued support and dedication to our Yorkshire charity.

Thanks to their efforts, £455 has already been raised so far! Every penny donated will go directly towards helping children facing adverse childhood experiences such as mental health challenges, trauma, abuse, poverty, serious illness and disabilities. All generous donations will help children and their families access respite breaks through our 100% donation policy - meaning every donated goes straight to funding essential breaks for families who need them most.

Thanks so much to Language is Everything, Joe and his friends for supporting us in our mission of making memories that last allowing children and families to reset, rest, and reconnect.

🌟It’s not too late to sponsor their amazing efforts and help make a real difference.
