Today is the first day of the Port Stories exhibition! Come visit at Nautilus House from 10am - 4pm and discover the history of Shoreham Port, as told by young adults. ⛵

Over the last month, young adults from Esteem got to collaborate with the amazing folks over at Figment Arts to explore and share the history of Shoreham Port through a range of creative mediums. This immersive exhibition brings their artistic vision to life through sound, photography and film.

The exhibition is completely free and will run for 4 days from the 28th - 31st of May. We look forward to seeing you there! 😊

Paddleboarders of Sussex, we need you!

Here at Esteem, we're looking for businesses and organisations that would be up for entering the 2026 Speedee Boarding event on the afternoon of Friday 12th June.

The event takes place at Hove Lagoon and will see teams of four compete in a number of relay races to lift the trophy. It's also a great opportunity for networking, employee engagement and charity support.

The cost to enter is just £500 per team and 100% of that fee is donated to a charity of your choice.

To celebrate Benefact Group's Big Give Back week and, as part of our three-year partnership with Ansvar Insurance, we welcomed three of the Ansvar team to The Old School House (the home of Esteem) this week to help us with some much-needed sorting of our creative resources and materials.

As a small team, we often find we just don't have enough hours in the day, so we're always super grateful to anyone willing to roll their sleeves up and help out with a task that's on our to-do list.

Andy Nall-Cain, Head of Programmes and Communications for Esteem, said: "It was fantastic to have Jane, Sam, and AJ in for a day's volunteering. The Ansvar team sorted through and organised our old creative kit and tools, work that will enable our whole youth team to run effective sessions through easier access to our creative resources. With these tools readily at their disposal, young adults at Esteem can continue to better connect with themselves and each other, as they step into adulthood. So a massive thank you to everyone at Ansvar for making this work possible."

Big thanks to Jane, Sam and AJ for giving up their day and getting stuck on. You've made a huge difference to us, and we're sorry about all the dust bunnies! 😂

This role will help create a warm, supportive space for Esteem’s Youth Team to reflect, learn and strengthen their work with young people.

For drop-in last Monday we explored Woods Mill in search of the elusive nightingale🪶

We met with Michael Blencowe who led us on an evening wildlife walk. It was a beautiful spring evening and we got to fully enjoy the peacefulness of nature. Michael shared lots of interesting facts and stories with us. We got to hear woodpeckers and even some nightingales which can only be heard in the springtime.

It was very relaxing to explore the reserve at dusk. Thank you Michael and Lost Woods of the Low Weald and Downs for the wonderful walk.

We'd like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank two fantastic supporters of Esteem for their MARATHON 🏃efforts over the last few weeks.

There must be something in the water at Oakley Property - Your Sussex Property Expert because directors David Beaken and Andy Hovey took on the Brighton and London Marathons, respectively, all to raise money for Esteem.

Thanks to some match funding from Agents Giving , the pair have raised £1,710, which jumps up to £2,022.50 when we add on the Gift Aid!

We're still buzzing from our latest round of holiday activities! Take a look at some of the highlights below 💥

Earlier this month, young people aged 14 - 16 got to take part in a variety of fun sessions including laser tag & trampolining.

We'd like to say a massive thank you to Focus Group who provided delicious veggie and meat packed lunches for the young people attending these sessions 🌟

Keep an eye out for our upcoming summer holiday activities where we'll have more fun experiences just like this.
