Sunflowers, sunshines & nature play at Bowling Park this morning. Lovely to see some older siblings taking part in free play.

What a vibrant, sun-drenched morning in the Sunnybank Mills dye garden!

Our incredible volunteers gave the beds a deep, thorough soak, and with fresh mulch laid down, the soil is holding moisture well.
Best of all, the dye plants are now bursting into bloom.
We managed a brilliant harvest today, gathering Goldenrod, Dahlias, Coreopsis, Dyer’s Chamomile, and Tagetes Marigolds.

All these colourful treasures are now tucked safely into paper bags to dry, ready to bring vibrant natural colour to our upcoming workshops.

The inspiration kept flowing when one of our wonderful volunteers shared a stunning collection of her hand-dyed creations. Fuelled by all that colour, we rounded off the morning by delving into botanical drawings of our dye plants, which will soon feature in our brand-new leaflet!

Ilkley Forest School Cooperative are bringing a 2-day Holiday Forest Fun session for 5-12 year olds to Moorfield School on 24th & 25th August.

A Forest School programme will typically including games, craft activities, tool use, den-building and a campfire.

Another session of gentle creation, where time softens and we gather to spend time in the present.
In this quiet rhythm, we turned our hands to clay, pressing delicate stems and leaves into its surface to capture the fine-grained details of the natural world.
Each resulting plaque and hanging serves as a tactile keepsake of our shared bond with nature.
