Baildon, Shipley & Saltaire Men's Shed
Another job well done by the Men’s Shed crew!

This time we've been out and about at St Peter's Bowling Club, where we've built and installed a sturdy new shelter complete with a seat. Now bowlers can enjoy a well-earned sit down and keep dry when Yorkshire decides to remind us who's boss!

As always, there was plenty of teamwork, a few head scratches, lots of banter and, naturally, several tea breaks along the way.

We're always keen to put our skills to good use, so if your community group, charity or local organisation has a project that could do with a helping hand, why not get in touch?

Baildon, Shipley & Saltaire Men's Shed - Phase One almost Complete… and yes, the er****on went very well!

After much measuring, lifting, drilling and a fair bit of banter, our summer house is finally standing proud. There were plenty of laughs along the way, and thankfully no major mishaps!

A huge thank you to Baildon Mechanics Institute and Shipley Community Wellbeing for their generous grants, which have enabled us to complete Phase 1 and enter into Phase 2.

Baildon, Shipley & Saltaire Men's Shed - Phase One almost Complete… and yes, the er****on went very well!

After much measuring, lifting, drilling and a fair bit of banter, our summer house is finally standing proud. There were plenty of laughs along the way, and thankfully no major mishaps!

Re posting our Scarecrow tribute to David Hockney, as we are saddened to hear of his passing 😞

For him flowers were much more than decorative subjects. They represented life, renewal, colour, and the simple pleasure of really looking at the world around us. Throughout his career, he created vibrant still-life paintings featuring fresh blooms, often arranged in vases and painted with bold colours and expressive brushwork. These works invite viewers to slow down and appreciate the beauty found in everyday moments.

His work reminds us that flowers are not merely plants—they are symbols of growth, hope, and the ever-changing beauty of life.

These beautiful handmade pieces will be available to purchase at a Polish function taking place this weekend, with funds raised supporting the Polish community. Please note that these items are not being sold online.

Andy will also be creating more of these wonderful carvings to sell at our Baildon Carnival stall 11th July, so be sure to come along and say hello!
